Bottle at Victors tasting 160904. Opaque black beer with a decent beige head. Fruity chocolate aroma, vinous, raisins, grapes, coffee and licorice. Fruity raisin flavor, grapes, citrus, raisins, some figs and warming alcohol.

Bottle courtesy of mybestfriend. Pours blackish brown with a small mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and fruity with roasted malts, chocolate, raspberries, coffee, soil and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, malty and fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny astringent, tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate, raspberries, moist soil, cardboard and hints of alcohol.

330ml bottle served in a chalice glass. A: Pours a completely dark color forming a solid beige head with good retention that leaves a lot of thin lingering lacings in the glass. S: Great nose. Lots of caramel malts, roasted malts, dark chocolate with well introduced hints of raspberries. Reminds a dark forest cake. T: Sweet upfront. Notes of roasted malts, caramel malts, dark chocolate, earth, coffee beans, licorice. Good hops bitterness. Grassy hops profile. Hints of raspberry, light sour notes. M: Heavy body. Medium to low carbonation. Roasted malts in the aftertaste. O: Good drinkability. Great Porter tempered with raspberry.

Bottle. Pours deep dark brown, opaque and with a really full stable frothy tan head. Aroma is dominated by raspberries and has lighter roasted notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is light sweet, has a quite sour foundation and turns light bitter in the finish. The body is thick and oily with low carbonation and a creamy, mousse like mouthfeel. Flavor gains stronger coffee and toasted notes as well caramel while the raspberry notes are turned a bit down. There is also a light spicy note coming through. Aftertaste is light bitter-sweet, coffee and caramel. Good profile that pronounces the dark fruit notes more and resembles something like a raspberry chocolate dessert with a complimentary coffee.

Love this beer, muito balanceada, aromatica e saborosa.

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, beige head. Chocolatey, roasty, sweet, with a very good raspberry presence.
Balanced and layered. Excellent.

Bottle - Dark chocolate and berry notes. Deep brown with a light brown head. Chocolate, sweet berry and nice dark malts. Nice.

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out rich blackberries, some cocoa and bready notes. Flavour is like a pure liquid black forest cake, full of blackberries and light cocoa notes. Just enough sweetness to lend to this. Great balance, with lots of depth. Really nice stuff.

Oakes (19742) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 28, 2016
Dark brown, thick head. The aroma is subtly fruity, sweet, nice chocolatey taste and good balance.
