COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Portly Stout is our robust stout. It is brewed with three different dark malts and has a creamy, smooth mouth feel. We kept the hops to a minimum so that the roasted malt character could be the predominant aspect of the beer. It is just a solid, straight-up stout.

>> Deep red to black color with healthy foam and lace. Nose is pretty nice wet tobacco and sharper roasted malt. Flavor has some of that roasted malt derived acidity, grilled lemon, solid body with great balance. Dry and nicely bitter. Overall solid.

My first from this brewery. Pours black with an off white head. The aroma is chocolate and roast malt. The flavor has the chocolate and roastiness and is well balanced. Nice medium body.

Turtle Anarchy's flagship brew lies somewhere between a porter and a stout (the name makes sense). Rich, porter flavors with a bit of a stout-like mouth feel. The aroma is welcoming, and a bit warming. Nice brownish head and good lacing. All in all a very nice beer.

Tasted on 7/14/12 on draft at the brewpub. Pours nearly black, dark brown with a thick brown head that leaves average lacing. The nose is dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and a touch of coffee. The flavor is quite dry with the cocoa powder and bitter coffee dominant, and just a touch of creamy milk chocolate richness. The body is a bit fuller than medium with average, smooth carbonation, and a long dark chocolate and coffee finish.
