COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Portly Stout is our robust stout. It is brewed with three different dark malts and has a creamy, smooth mouth feel. We kept the hops to a minimum so that the roasted malt character could be the predominant aspect of the beer. It is just a solid, straight-up stout.

Nice and dry roasty stout, full of bitter unsweetened chocolate and a healthy amount of char. Slight dark fruit notes take hold in the middle, but the finish is a long, java-heavy fade brimming with dark malt and smoke. Pretty brown-black pour with a modest head and minor lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Good texture. Not a bad pint.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2017 On tap at Siglers in Tennessee. Revisited about 9 months later with a 12 oz can. Excellent looking with a black body and a fine tan head. Nice lacing. Plenty of dark roasted grain flavor with a touch of smoke and a hint of black coffee. Lightly sweet up front but good bitter-sweet balance. Very smooth, full body. Medium carbonation.

>> Deep red to black color with healthy foam and lace. Nose is pretty nice wet tobacco and sharper roasted malt. Flavor has some of that roasted malt derived acidity, grilled lemon, solid body with great balance. Dry and nicely bitter. Overall solid.
