From a cask, at the brewery, little malt depth to balance the mondo amount of hops - mostly alcohol, hops, and a too bitter finish. The beer engine wasn’t working that day, so the beer was dispensed from a plastic container set inside a chest freezer. Hopefully, this cask beer will see better days. Draft at brewpub. Nice nose. Citrus, pineapple (amarillo?) aroma. Not super bitter or dry, but it’s quite drinkable with the tropical fruitiness. Oakes (18756) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 24, 2011
Hazy tan. Good hop nose. Citrus, wood, pine. Slightly caramelly malt backbone. Quite refreshing. LilBeerDoctor (4193) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 13, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. This is a blend of their regular IPA and Independence IPA. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma of citrus hops and sweaty hops. Flavor of bitter and sweaty hops upfront with more sweat in the finish. Very dry. Great IPA (I liked it better than the Independence alone).
