COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For our inaugural barrel release, we present to you an expressive union between hand crafted beer and American oak. We carefully designed three beers, an Imperial Porter, Imperial Stout and Barelywine, to mature in some of Kentucky’s finest bourbon barrels, and the result is beautiful. Overwhelmingly rich. Staggeringly decadent. This beer challenges complexity by bringing toffee, chocolate, dark fruit and oak to your palate, all while maintain the essence of what defines a great barrel aged beer. Whether you enjoy fresh, or age for years to come, we offer you this representation of all that is Tusk & Grain.

660ml bottle (RBESG2017 Grand Tasting) (5+:4:6+:4:13+=3.2+++)

Silly wax on the bottle, which pissed people off. Hot aroma. More grappa than any other particular spirit. Vanilla and sweet chocolate roasty taste. Finish is the chocolatey roast. Sugars smother the alcohol. Strangely pleasant to sip, I often wouldn’t like something so over-egged.

500 ml bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a fairly opaque very dark cola with darker beige head. Smells and tastes of dark malt, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, and oak with a warming and somewhat boozy medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Good, not great.
