Listed as 5% abv on the menu at Twain’s. Pours a deep brown on tap with thin tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma and taste of dark toasted malts, nutty earth, hint of sweet caramel. Smooth and somewhat creamy mouth, mild and easy, just kind of boring.

chinchill (5448) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 18, 2015
On tap at the 2015 Decatur Beer Fest. Listed as 5% ABV. Reddish brown body with great clarity. Rich and nutty malt flavor, this is an excellent example of the style. Slightly more bitter than sweet. More dark roasted flavor, and dark malts altogether, than usual for style.

Finally someone spelled the state’s name right. Draft at the source. Clear dark amber color. Aroma of rich chocolate brownie. Taste is nutty dark cocoa, light body. Tasty.

All the right flavors are there but in such small amounts as to be more frustrating than nice.

suprchunk (2994) - EffOff, Florida, USA - JUL 19, 2014
Deep brown. Slight tan head. Lacing. Huge nutty and chocolate aroma. Taste is a bit off and has a chemical note.

ChainGangGuy (4949) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - MAY 29, 2014
Appearance: Served up a dark brown body with a faint ecru-colored head. Smell: A modest hint of caramel atop the toasty malts with a sprinkling of raisins for an additional fruitiness. Taste: A deep, dark sense of toast (though not quite heading towards being roasty), with a cooked caramel sweetness. Dark fruit esters. Low, light hops and bitterness. Toasty maltiness on the drying finish. Mouthfeel: Falls a bit shy of medium-bodied and a medium level of carbonation. Overall: Ole’ Mess, is o-kay!

Brown black pour with tan head and lace. Aroma of roasted malt and a touch of chocolate. Sweet roasted maltiness, tones of chocolate, and a good malt bitter. Medium bodied and a tad fizzy. good beer

On tap at the brewpub. A little flat and could use a little more carbonation. The nuttiness though makes up for it a bit. Smooth creamy texture and nice sweet nutty almond flavor.

Cybercat (6417) - Georgia, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Pours a nice clear sepia - not much head, but that may be an artifact of the pour. Aroma has nutty, earthy, malty and cloves notes. Flavor is better than what the aroma promises - malty, nutty, earthy and cloves notes delight the tongue. Texture has little fizz, but plenty of firmness, and the subtle fizz does linger. Earthy, delicious, recommended.
