Traditional English Bitter brewed with Fuggle hops and European malts. One notch lighter in color than Sleepy Conscience ESB. Flavor: sweet malt flavor, lots of fresh bread character, well balanced with woodsy earthy hops,tasty light lingering bitter finish

Flavor: same great flavor with a touch of a grassy floral hop note that supplements the woody hops and turns then into more of an earthy character

Clean almost amber pour with a creamy lace and head. Rich full malt flavor fades to a medium to light bitter that seems to grow on you abit. A bit thin with decent carbonation that is on the edge of to agressive. Another decent drinker. Refreshing and clean.

Comes out of the tap a beautiful dark, semi-transparent amber shading towards lighter gold near the bottom. Head is cream-eggshell and of a decent thickness. Aroma is fairly strong, hoppy, malty and slightly spicy. Flavor is hoppy, somewhat bitter but not fiercely so, with an earthy, yeasty and malty undertone. Texture is fairly smooth and fizzy, about average. Overall a good beer.

Appearance: Clear, dark amber-copper body with a thin, white wisp atop but no real head. Smell: Various bakery-based notes of toasted bread, biscuits, and brown sugar. Good whiff of spicy, zesty Fuggle hops. Taste: Sweet breadiness with a touch of oven-toasted day-old biscuits, brown sugar, and light caramel. Touch of green raisin fruitiness. Earthy, spicy hops with a medium-low amount of bitterness. Finishes fairly dry with a lingering zip of English hops. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: An acceptable, enjoyable brew even well-suited to nighttime patio drinking at Twain’s.

draft. Clear golden / amber color. Thin white head. Very nice lacing. Aroma of grain and a nice floral hop. Very well balanced. kinda soapy flavor. some light caramel malts, leveled out by a light hop bitterness. light bodied, very easy to drink. This is the ultimate every day drinker.

tap. pours a clear amber. nutty flavor. really toasty and roasty for an ESB style beer. didn’t really remind me of the style but it was ok anyway. twains is a really great place to hang out! i had a blast...and got blasted.

There was something just a little off here and I’m thinking infected so unfortunately this is not going to be a great rating. Will have to keep a watch out for another shot at rating this down the road. Pour was a very delectable looking amber color. Aroma is slightly caramel sweet but mostly overpowered by this off putting sort of metallic kind of smell. Flavor has a bit of malt working but again the butteriness in the flavor is overpowering. The finish is a slightly bitter with a little spice and grass. Nice english hop finish there. The butter kills the rest of the beer though.

On cask. Wtf on the aroma. Caramel, burnt cookies, and some puke. Have you ever bit into a vitman tablet? Well that’s the dominate flavor here with some more burnt cookies. This beer is awful. Chug time to get rid of it.

Tap at the brewpub summer 2011. Orangey amber that’s slightly hazy. Earthy hops, malty, and dark fruity aromas. Nicely bitter, earthy, mineral, touch of toffee, bread and dark fruit. Medium body. Not bad
