3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the brewery tap room. Pours a thin head on a light brown body.
The aroma is subtle roasted malt and coffee..
The taste has a significant bitterness throughout with some roasted malt worked in.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
A fine beer but a little too much bitterness in a porter for me.
Crowler from Growler Guys-Kennewick. Dark brown body, small ring of head, nothing exciting to look at. Roasty aroma, some molasses. Taste is roasty too, soft bitterness, hints of sweetness, a nice velvety feel too. Not exceptional, but decent. DuffMan (10665) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 27, 2015
On tap @ the brewpub, our fifth brewery on TvM’s Bachelor Party NW Ale Trail Expedition. Dark brown with amber highlights. Dark malts without any acrid burnt character, hints of dark fruits, full bodied. A great porter. mlf1303 (2) - - SEP 21, 2014 does not count
Nice appearance and aroma. Good strong flavor, but a little too hoppy for a porter.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color. Nose is lightly roasty, yet present enough to be really inviting and pleasant. Taste is slightly bitter, and has a moderate amount of roasting that makes it a smooth drink. Enjoyed this one a lot. k9coug (116) - USA - NOV 10, 2012
Taste profile very similar to their stout. Not much body. Coffee notes in the finish. More bitterness near the bottom of the growler. Nice lacing from a moderate head (probably because it was from a growler). poisoneddwarf (2646) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - JAN 29, 2012
Growler filled and rated by Brenn and Bill yesterday, rated by me today. Hopefully there hasn’t been too much deterioration. Thanks, Bill! Pours midnight, but when held up to the light you can see through it; has a small beige head that reduces to a collar quickly. Aroma is doughy, fresh baked bread. Taste starts out sweet and finishes with a dry bitterness. There’s a weird fruity flavor in there I’ve never tasted in a porter before; it’s not a bad flavor, just different. Carbonation is soft, body pretty thin. Bill said this was better straight from the tap. Maybe I need to check out this new brewery for myself and re-rate it. anderson01 (357) - Spirit Lake, Idaho, USA - JAN 28, 2012
Black in color with a tan, creamy head. Constallation lacing. Chocolate malt and peanut butter aroma. Smooth texture with chocolate taste. There is a hint of hops. The finish is very smooth. This is a good drinking beer during the summer. Good local brewery. Beerdrinker79 (2218) - Idaho, USA - JAN 28, 2012
On tap from a growler- Pours black with a little of transparency, the head is about one finger and reduces to a collar and a few islands of foam. The aroma is chocolate malt, peanut butter. The taste is chocolate malt, roasted nuts, mild hops, it leaves kind of a dryness in your mouth. Body is a little thin, carbonation is medium. Overall a decent straight forward porter, very sessionable. billk (353) - Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA - JAN 6, 2012
Tap at 12 String. Clear ultra dark mahogany, no head. min carb. Aroma was mild, Flavor was nice, fresh, slightly smokey dark roast malt with light hop flavor and bitterness. Dry overall. Only moderately into medium bodied. Just a bit thin to me but I’m not a Porter fan.
