Full malty aroma, with a hint of ’iron’. Taste is quite sweet, candy sugarlike. short but drier than expected aftertaste .

kappldav123 (6182) - GERMANY - NOV 12, 2012
Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark, almost black, small head. Starts mild, malty with some chocolate hints. Dry background. Finish with fruity notes of raisins. Okay.

fonefan (53043) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUN 1, 2012

Bottle 750ml. @ home on the terrace.

Clear light dark red brown colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light malty, bread, caramel, malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel, malt sweet, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120526]

erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAR 6, 2012
Very dark brown, small soapy tan head. Caramel, pecan pie, sweetened fruit juice, toasted bread, basement. But watery body, low carbonation. Easily drinkable and enjoyable, but not very special. Medium sweetness, extending to the short aftertaste. Very reminiscent of the other Dutch bok beers. But more of the smooth burned feel though. Doesn’t justify the price, even in the great looking bottle. (75cl bottle, expensive)

KimJohansen (10498) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - MAR 26, 2010
Clear dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, chocolate and caramel. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, hints of anise. Finished sweet.

jbrus (4988) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - NOV 20, 2009
[email protected] Light fruity aroma. Brown colour, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, bitter, German hops (veggie-like), bit fruity. Bit thinnish.

bierkoning (13893) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - NOV 19, 2009
Brewery tap. Dark brown color. Soft caramelaroma. Sweetish caramelflavor with vegetable and cellar notes. Watery mouthfeel. Nutty bitter aftertaste.
