Clear light dark red brown colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light malty, bread, caramel, malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel, malt sweet, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120526]

erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAR 6, 2012
Very dark brown, small soapy tan head. Caramel, pecan pie, sweetened fruit juice, toasted bread, basement. But watery body, low carbonation. Easily drinkable and enjoyable, but not very special. Medium sweetness, extending to the short aftertaste. Very reminiscent of the other Dutch bok beers. But more of the smooth burned feel though. Doesn’t justify the price, even in the great looking bottle. (75cl bottle, expensive)

Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark, almost black, small head. Starts mild, malty with some chocolate hints. Dry background. Finish with fruity notes of raisins. Okay.

0.25 l bottle, best before September 2016, thanks Secret Sint! Clear, dark brownish red with a thin, foamy, almost stable, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of brown sugar, molasses, toffee and nuts. Sweet, malty taste of brown sugar, caramel and nuts, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally metallic finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Very simple bock, rather sweet, like a Dutch Oud Bruin or a Malzbier.

(Twents Bok) Bottle 250 ml at home, thanks to Dean! Served into a small snifter, ABV 6.5% Brown coloured body, small and somewhat thin light beige head, with good retention though, leaving light lacing behind. Aroma has caramel, malts, light straw, sugar. Taste of caramel and straw, sweet, red fruits, with some metallic notes for the most part. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Medium thin body, good carbonation. An average one.
