Gravity @ Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny head. The nose is light lactose, some nut bar and smooth chocolate syrup sweetness. The taste is of watery espresso and roasted wood. Earthy flavors. There’s also plenty of vinous berry fruits, blackberry jam. Lightly dry finish. Medium body, smooth-drinking. Overall, a pretty solid porter. Good stuff.
Cask at The Wandsworth Beer Festival at Le Gothique on 26 Oct 2012. Poured a chestnut colour, with a rocky off white head. Aroma of dark malt, straw and dried fruit. Slightly acidic fruit in the flavour, with funky maltiness and hay. Finish was watery, a little copper and toffee. Leighton (22580) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2013
Cask at the Union Tavern - London. Pours brown with a fine, tan cream head. Tangy dark malts abound, some mild roast, hints of dark fruits, mild cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Burnt sugars to finish, more tangy dark malts, some chocolate. Fair but nothing special. BeerViking (5087) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 22, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 Tasted at the brewery, August 2012, it’s gorgeous stuff, with old wine, treacle and liquorice notes, yet over it all a fresh hoppy edge. It’s made by blending aged strong ale with fresh ale.
