Very dark, with a thin layer of beige head. Medium, creamy body. Nose of chocolate and roasted malt. Tastes of chocolate and coffee, hint of dark fruit. Fairly this flavour, though I guess that’s the style. imdownthepub (14440) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 19, 2017
Cask conditioned at Coventry Beer festival ’17. Very dark brown with cream head. There is a full on, dark roasted malty body to this with slightly charred hints, some dryness but then a sweet chocolate character along with a groundsy coffee note. Lovely and full for the ABV. Cracking. SaintMatty (7281) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - JAN 21, 2017
330ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges and a foamy head. Raisins, marzipan, caramel and vanilla in the aroma. Chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and some noticeable yet subtle vanilla notes in the taste. Quite complex for a beer like this and that sometimes detracts from the enjoyment of light beers for me but not really in this case. leaparsons (10496) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2017

Appearance- very dark, pretty much black, no head whatsoever. Aroma- lots of chocolate, dark malts, chocolate milkshake, biscuits, hint of vanilla sweetness. Taste- coffee and chocolate, chocolate and caramel biscuit, burnt toast, undertones of vanilla sweetness. More vanilla and peppery dark fruits (blackcurrant) emerge as it warms. Smoky finish, fairly thin mouthfeel. Not bad, plenty going on for the abv.
