Bottle from Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours near black with a rich tan head and a chocolate and coffee aroma. There is a medium-bodied chocolate and treacle flavor with a huge hit of coffee. Very creamy and tasty.
A nice creamy stout. Has light coffee flavors. Thin fading head. Toast cream. Good body needs more coffee though.

Had the last 8oz or so from a kicked keg. No detailed notes - looks like cold brew coffee, smells like cold brew coffee, tastes like cold brew coffee with a shot of Triibe. Large Format - For a coffee stout the coffee aroma is very mild, I smell more of an alcohol essence. Color is a rich dark brown with lots of sediment floating around the glass. Taste wise I don’t get the roasted coffee or any other typical roasted malt flavors I would expect. No chocolate either. Taste is very similar to the smell, more alcohol than anything else. There are some beers I like more in hindsight than I do at the time. Twisted Pine’s Big Shot is one of those. I drained it pretty quickly and was somewhat unimpressed with the flavors of espresso and chocolate. Looking back, I do think the richness is good for a Stout with 6% ABV, but I’d still prefer something more bold. While the mouthfeel is smooth, I want more creaminess. In all, Big Shot has no glaring flaws. In fact, I have trouble thinking of anything truly wrong with it. It’s damn drinkable and has decent flavors. Still, nothing really made it stand out for me. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish.
O- The aroma on this is robust and out of this world. Like a straight cup of java with a nice chocolate sweetness to it. The taste is about the same but not as much flavor.
