Bottle. Poured a brownish color with no real head. No lacing, no real carbonation. Aroma was light caramel, chocolate, and malts. Flavor was weaker. Bread, cereal, and chocolate. Thin and watery. Thin body. Not a lot there. rougeau13 (3015) - Richmond, Texas, USA - OCT 14, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2010 Deep brown with full cream colored head. Aroma of roasted malt and a touch of fruit. Tastes of roasted and chocolate malt, a bit of dry hops, molasses and a touch of honey. Not all bad, but like everything I’ve tried from twisted pine, it’s too heavily carbonated. And also, just like their other beers, there is a fakeness to it, as if they just put flavoring in the beer rather than actually brew what the label says. nuplastikk (6289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 9, 2010
12oz bottle. Deep burgundy-brown, soapy, oily head, off white. Deep malty aroma. Honey brown is forbidden territory, thanks to Dundee, but this beer snatches the style right back. Quite excellent, the honey complements the dark malt tones perfectly. Medium to full bodied, displays an extra clean mouthfeel. Really exceeded my expectations, extremely well executed. ansermadide (1526) - Kyle, Texas, USA - JUL 27, 2010
Bubbly, frothy cream-colored head, muddy brown/ruby colored body. Malty brown, slightly roasted and almost floral honey aroma. Light standard brown ale flavor, a little trace of hops with a syrupy astringency. Almost tastes like wood. Drinkable, but if there’s something else on the menu, drink that. potbeerjob (1343) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 15, 2010
Draught from tap room. Light tan head on a red/brown beer. Aroma is sweet malt. Taste is honey, caramel, and roast with only light light hops.

Not sure why the low reviews on this brown. Lots of chocolate and coffee flavors, but it’s not too heavy like a porter, so you can still drink it while working outside. Very good. blutt59 (6564) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 24, 2010
bottle, via trade with jbye4334, dark ruby brown with soapy tan foam, aromas of light coffee and caramel, flavors of cocoa puffs, caramels, malty finish jb43 (1650) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 29, 2010
(bottle from Cheers Liquor in Colorado Springs). Clear dark brown color. Medium tan head, which is mostly diminishing. Sweet malt aroma. Roasted malt flavor. Short duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing. dnstone (3418) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - NOV 12, 2009
Sweet, light honey with roast malt nose. Solid brown appearance. Balanced honey/roast flavors. drjay44 (3712) - Salida, Colorado, USA - NOV 10, 2009
12 oz. bottle. Pours a beige head over a clear brown (SRM 20) body......nose is rich in coffee and chocolate......taste is coffee, chocolate, bit of hazelnut, slightly sweet throughout, until a light bitter finish....mouth feel is light borderline watery, carbonation medium. The aroma was the strong point of this beer.
