Draft at the brewpub.
Pours a hazy dark brown color with a one finger off-white head that quickly fades into a thin ring. minimal lacing.
Slighty toasty aroma with dark malt notes and subtle crisp hops. Hints of toast, toffee, nut and caramel but I’m not picking up any honey.
Medium bodied and slightly roasted with some dark malts and faint sweetness. Hints of toast, caramel, cocoa, hazelnut and toffee along with subtle honey flavor. Toward the end of the palate there is a crisp hop bite that adds a touch of bitterness to the finish. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Bottle; poured a dark orange/brown color. Aroma was sweet, with honey and veggies. Flavor was sweet with some honey and veggies. Didn’t quite work. HIGHB4LL (837) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 3, 2014
Sampler at Twisted Pine. Appearance: small tan head, red/brown color, clear. Aroma: spice, metallic, light honey. Palate: light body, slightly watery yet oily texture, metallic finish. Taste: light sweetness throughout. Overall, unimpressive. Westmeister (2129) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 24, 2014
Dark mohangeny pour with mocha head. Taste is slightly nutty with a fairly uneventful malt base. Bits of metal but rather bland and not really sweet at all. Volgon (2763) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 7, 2002

Had this beer on 3/30/1999. Color is a deep brown with low carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is a nice sweet roasted malt scent. Taste is rich and sweet. It starts with a medium body that goes down heavy with a bit of bite. The finish is a sweet malt flavor with a rich alcohol taste to it and a light bitterness. ansermadide (1526) - Kyle, Texas, USA - JUL 27, 2010
Bubbly, frothy cream-colored head, muddy brown/ruby colored body. Malty brown, slightly roasted and almost floral honey aroma. Light standard brown ale flavor, a little trace of hops with a syrupy astringency. Almost tastes like wood. Drinkable, but if there’s something else on the menu, drink that. dwaggs2 (1297) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - NOV 12, 2010
Bottle. Poured a brownish color with no real head. No lacing, no real carbonation. Aroma was light caramel, chocolate, and malts. Flavor was weaker. Bread, cereal, and chocolate. Thin and watery. Thin body. Not a lot there. thegreenrooster (4402) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 15, 2011
Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice honey and nut with some roasted malt in the backround. Flavor is more of a roasted malt with sweetness from the honey. Aftertaste leaves a odd plastic taste on the tounge. An ok beer.
