Poured brown with reddish tint and a huge head. Aroma was bourbon with malty and grainy notes. The flavor was woody, oxidized, dry and slightly malty with warming alcohol. The flavors are enhanced as the beer warms. The palate is very smooth and fizzy. Overall this is a decent beer with a good presentation and the mellow flavors really intensify as the beer warms. Nice carbonation for an aged beer. Fruity and bready smell like the belgians. Mouthfeel is moderate to light. Taste is fruity, slight chocolate and some wood notes too. I liked this beer but the carbonation flavor made it lose some points. Not bad. Mette (224) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 15, 2009
Flaske. Rødbrun uklar i farven, lysbeige skum. Duft og smag af brun sukker, karamel, er sød og bourbonnoter. Underlig syrlig i smagen, let prikkende, let bitter. pacond (188) - Muncie, Indiana, USA - MAY 12, 2011
This beer has some odd tastes that don’t work for me. It is sweet and nutty with oak and sour/tart flavors. dphoxie (120) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 18, 2014
ick. not at all what i expected based on the description (or the $$$). overly metallic aromas, hardly any oak or whiskey there... taste/palate is thin and again metallic. just sort of gross. not awesome at all. a major let down.

As soon as I opened the bottle I could smell the whiskey aging. Its almost over powering, in a good way. I am a fan of the style and anything whiskey barrel aged is a good time for me. The taste is whiskey and smooth, but could use a little bit more robust flavor for whatever that means. Easy to drink and I would order this again for sure.
