COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This extra hoppy Pilsner has a jalapeno aroma, a mild jalapeno flavor, and leaves you with pleasant warmth in the back of your throat. At 6.5% alcohol by volume Fuego is strong yet still crisp and refreshing. Most chili beers are more focused on the heat, but this one is 100% beer. The secret to this beer is the amount and duration of the jalapeno soak, as it has taken nearly two years to get it just right. About the name: Fuego is translated as "Fire" - The jalapeno is a fruit, a medium sized chili pepper with a warm, burning sensation when eaten. A mature jalapeno is 2-3.5 inches (5-9 cm) long and is commonly picked and sold when still green, but occasionally when ripe and red. The jalapeno is variously named in Mexico as huachinango and chile gordo The seeds have the heat of a jalapeno, but the flesh has a mild flavor close to a green bell pepper. We get our jalapenos from San Antonio’s finest spice company - Fiesta Spices - owned by the Bolner family.

You can definitely pick up the jalapeño flavor of his but it's not a bad thing. I'm interested in how this rates from the brewery ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: Bright, almost clear golden. tiny head of small white bubbles. Nose: Sharp pepper bitter, light malt, touch of sweetness Taste: fairly strong jalapeno pepper burn. Touch sweetness towards the end. Not much else going on Body: lighter and lively Parting thoughts: As you’d expect. I don’t see this getting much drinking outside of dares or experimental one can purchases.

Austin,Tx - Lamar Foods - 12 oz can. Medium golden pour, quickly diminishing white head. Aroma has some nice peppery hotness, a bit of natural dirt earthiness. Nice pepper burn in the flavor, not overwhelming, some topsoil, Pleasantly crisp mouthfeel, just the right amount of pepper burn.

Had this on tap and boy was it not good. Appearace was like any other decent amber lager. Aroma slightly vegetal. Taste upfront is fairly innocuous but after a second the jalepeno kicks in with a very strong vegetable flavor and a fair amount of heat. Turns out I like jalepenos, just not in my beer. Yuck.

This beer was so strong on the jalapeños that it hit you right in the mouth and really took over.

Tap at brewery. Light golden pour, average white head. Aroma is jalapeño, grass, grain. Light peppery aroma. Taste is peppery, light burn, malty sweetness to balance. Not bad. Light body. A better pepper beer.

SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - MAR 17, 2015
Pours golden with a large white head. Smells lightly earthy, hints of pepper and grain. Taste soft pepper, some mild heat, touch of grain. Light-bodied with a wet texture and average mouth-carbonation, Twisted X Fuego finishes with mild lingering heat.

George999 (455) - Colorado, USA - FEB 6, 2015
Pour from the bottle is clear golden slightly darker than a Coors light but just barely, aroma is almost watery hints of a larger and a little fresh pepper notes, taste is clean minor sweetness from the jalapeño a minor heat finish. Overall this beings out the jalapeño in a maner that is complimentary to a pale ale.

Poured a yellow like any other lager. No nose to speak of. In the mouth, the heat is just the right amount and not overpowering.

Clear, deep golden with medium white head. Typical pils aroma. The jalapeño doesn’t impart any flavor, just burn. Hits almost immediately and finishes strong.
