Pretty good IPA. Nice hazy orange appearance. Medium mouthfeel and a decent hoppyness. Like that it comes in a can for the pool club!

12oz can, from Wine & Brew in Michigan. Totally hazy amber color, lots of particles visible in the body. Thin off-white head, leaves decent bits of lace. Kind of malty, soapy, sweet in the flavor, with an odd old-hops aftertaste in the finish. Doesn’t taste like a fresh IPA, unfortunately (no date stamp on the can). Some spicy citrus hops, but mostly just caramel malt. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, light carbonation, lightly sticky finish. Disappointing IPA.

12 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours cloudy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, orange rind, tangerine, pineapple, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright hop notes and a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, orange rind, pineapple, floral, grass, light pine, bread, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Moderate earthy floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, citrus rind, pineapple, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance and complexity of hop flavors; with a moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly crisp and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around nice hop flavor balance and complexity with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Vacation 2011 - Seattle and Olympic National Park

8/23/2011: Two Beers Evolutionary IPA... Aroma: Punchy, juicy, sugary grapefruit hops and some spruce. Appearance: Hazy amber-honey color; frothy off-white head. Flavor: Toffee maltiness; big mouthfull of fresh, hops; balanced, generous bitterness without becoming too aggressive (really controlled and just right for the style); grapefruit, pine, and resin hop flavors. Palate: Medium-bodied; smooth, slick texture. Overall: Excelent straight-up IPA.

1 Pint, 6 Fuild Ounce bottle (6.2% Alc. by Vol.; 70 IBUs). Rating #84 for this beer.

Can. Dark copper unfiltered. Heavy hop aroma and large white head. Heavy hop forward taste and you don’t get a whole lot else. Ok IPA but not great.

Average IPA with medium everything. Can was a plus, as I’ve started to appreciate their advantages.

can. Golden with small head. NW style IPA. Light malt and decent level of hoppiness. Above average, but not exceptional.

Super hazy copper coloured body with a nice brown coloured glow and a thick, five centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of fresh grassy and resinous hops with a noticeable alcohol bite at the end and some good herbal and bitter notes and a touch of sweetness. Medium-bodied; Very grassy and herbal hops up front with a kick from resinous and grapefruity type bitterness, a light sweetness and a good but perhaps lighter malt backbone. Aftertaste shows almost pure hop bitterness from the grassy, piney and floral hops - not much else to distract from this. Overall, a nice and rather hoppy (especially for 70 ibu) IPA with not as much malt, but works well in this case. Nice to try for hop lovers as this is more focused on the hop side of things and gets the balance all wrong, but in this case, it’s nice! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Pear Delicatessen in Seattle, Washington [state] on 11-February-2013 for US$1.70 sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 28-June-2013 - definitely a nice beer to bring home across the USA.

On tap at Darby's. with a very sexy friend on a surprise visit. He's munchin on food. Talking to my wife. This beer is fine. Slight floral, pine, and caramel. Good dry finish. I'd drink again.

jcr (2705) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Draft. Cloudy amber body. Frothy, off-white head. Aroma of honey, fruit, floral hops, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. A lot of floral hops and citrus in the taste along with strawberry and caramel. A different tasting IPA. It borders on syrupy, though.
