Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate citrus (orange and tangerine), light grapefruit, a touch of floral notes, and faint caramel. It pours a hazy dark orange with a two finger cream colored head that has good retention. There are a lot of sticky rings left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy citrus notes of orange and tangerine along with a light fruitiness. There is some light caramel in the middle. The finish has moderate grapefruit and floral hops. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, I generally don’t like caramel flavors in IIPAs, but the light caramel flavor in this one seems to work for me.
22oz bomber. Oily hemp old school IIPA aroma, not really that appealing. Resinous, thick hop flavors, not really capturing the Simcoe or Galena. Drinks really heavy for the moderate ABV. Lots of hops and a sweet malt backdrop...but this just isn’t that well crafted. Unfiltered amber brown-tan. Seriously respectable off-white head...long lasting. Loses points right back when I watch the floaties actually swim around the glass. I actually strained it and it tastes and looks better, but lost some carbonation. Resinous sticky hop aftertaste...nothing really distinct. reebtogi (6403) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 12, 2013
650ml bottle pours a deep golden orange color with a 2 finger off-white head that leaves some pretty darn good lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild but pleasant with some grains and citrus and a hint of pine. Taste is dominated by a grapefruit bitterness with some pine underneath followed by a grainy malt sweetness with some lighter sweet fruits underneath. Light to medium bodied with some decent carbonation leaving a nice tingle on the tongue. A highly recommended IPA which is nicely balanced and not too over the top. May not satisfy a true hophead, but still really good nonetheless. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 28, 2013
Lots of caramel and biscuit on the nose, light lime and citrus notes, a little iced tea. Pours golden amber, thin head. Flavors of biscuit, caramel, lime iced tea, a little danky citrus notes as well. Biscuity finish. Not my favorite. Way too much biscuit and crystal malt. 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, pineapple, floral, grass, caramel, toast, toffee, bread, light pine, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and very balanced hop/malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, pine, floral, grass, caramel, toast, toffee, bread, and floral earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, floral, pine, caramel, toast, toffee, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish. Good hop balance and complexity; with a moderate malt backbone and minimal cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a lightly slick and sticky mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a solid Double IPA. Good balance and complexity of hop and malt notes; and quite smooth to sip on. An enjoyable offering.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a glossy/hazy burnt orange to amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing all invading but sliding right on into the beer.
The smell started off with a fairly decent dark strong caramel malt that lead into a decent dried citrus sweet aspect.
The taste was mainly sweet and malty with a slight bready take in the flavor.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but not overbearing as it lead me on and into a further depth of a want of detail...was it there? Slightly...
Overall, this was a pretty good beer that is worthy of having again if you like the maltier DIPA’s. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - APR 8, 2014
Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice Hops forward flavor and finish. Great beer super IPA. Nice citrus flavors. BillKismet (4165) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 25, 2013
Rich mahogany body, a beautiful luminous amber, topped with an ok head. Fruity, juicy aroma with some foresty notes mixed in. Body is juicy fruity, more sweet than bitter, a tad syrupy, but not too bad. Crit (4102) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 26, 2013
Cloudy amber, lasting beige head.Nose of malt & alcohol.Full bodied molasses like malt profile, lasting hop finish, medium alcohol heat Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Big, malt-forward double IPA. Lots of caramel and sweet bread. Honey-like sweetness as well. Hops are balanced. Sugar-coated pine, sweet grass and honey-dipped flower petals. Tasty beer, though it drinks more like a barleywine than a double IPA.
