Dark brown pour some dark soapy head. Aroma nutty, coffee, slight grassy. Acrid taste, very dark choco. Smooth low sugar choco mouth residue. Overall quite mild, watery. Could use more hops flavor. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - JAN 2, 2014
Bomber. Piney, resinous, and burnt malt nose. Black pour. Lots of dark fruits up front on the malt tip, while splashing notes of dirt and earth, and perhaps a bit of coffee, in the mid-palate. A luscious blast of NW profiled hops bitters in the finish, melding all the flavors together at the end. Real smooth, great body feel. Yum! harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 19, 2013
Lists itself as: Imperial Cascadian Dark Ale
Bottle date: unk
A: pours a black ale with a single finger of tan foam which falls in a few minutes to a persistent sheet of the same. cobweb lace.
S: smokey, with hints of pine and resin. and I can’t get this out of my mind - a boiled kielbasa (a bit spicy and meaty)
T: A little more roasty than anticipated with plenty of coffee and bitter soil flavor. Surprised how bitter this is to me given the listed IBU’s. Again with the cased meat flavor (not really bad, just kinda catches me off-guard).
M: Medium on heavy with lower carb and a dry finish. Spot on for the style for me.
O: good beer. Worth having. And I gotta say, would be great about two months from now when the weather is really nippy. I consistently dig the beers coming out of this brewery, wish they had a little more love on this site.

22oz bottle. Dark brown / red color. Still clear on the edges. Thin khaki head. Good spread and ropes of lace. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Bigger body. Lightly sticky finish. Lightly dry. Bigger bitter taste, moderate sweet. Bigger roasty malt, some molasses, light dark chocolate. Some piney hop. Solid black IPA. Besides the pronounced, lightly cloying sweetness, 8.4% worked solidly. superspak (5883) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - AUG 27, 2013
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours almost pitch black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of orange zest, grapefruit, lemon zest, floral, light pine, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, light char, toast, and floral/roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of hop and roasted notes; but fairly weak on strength. Taste of orange zest, grapefruit, pine, floral, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, light char, toast, and floral/roasted earthiness. A moderate amount of pine/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, pine, floral, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, light char, toast, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice and well balanced hop and roasted malt flavors; with solid complexity and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice black IPA. Good balance of hop and roasted malt flavors with solid complexity; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

4-6-13, poured from bomber: More hops than malts. Insane icee looking off white head. Tame malts finish. 8.8 BD; 7.9 KevMar; 8.8 Joek; 9.4 Mom ACHops (1614) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 13, 2013
On tap @ The Woods. Pours inky brownish black with thin off white head. Aroma is dark earthy roasty malt with faint floral hops. Taste is big charred super dark malt with hints of dark chocolate. Nice earthy hops on the finish, but I’d honestly pin this as more of a strong porter than CDA. Either way, delicious. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - JUL 15, 2013
Bomber from trade with michaelinwa. Pours opaque black with a very small head that fades very quickly. Aromas are medium roasted coffee and nuts with some light pine and grapefruit. Taste is ok. Bitter coffee and chocolate, nuts, and some light hop taste. Finish is pretty bitter. Thin body and slightly chalky mouthfeel. Overall, it drinks surprisingly easy for 8.4% but the flavors are muted and boring. Bule (2239) - California, USA - APR 1, 2013
22oz bottle at Purple Winebar in Seattle. Pours a dark black with not much head. Roasted aromas. Well balanced hop and roast flavors.

Pours nice and dark. quite stout like. Nice tight foamy head with good lacing. Smells of roasted coffee, chocolate and citrusy hops.
Roast Malt character is present in nose as well. Tastes sweet and rich then hops kick in to balance out. Medium to light body. was expecting a little more from the appearance. Texture a little thin with some creaminess present. Fizzy. Finish is balanced with nice notes of coffee and citrus with medium length.
