On tap @ Uber. Pours thick reddish dark brown with thin head that laces well. Aroma is sweet and lightly spiced oaky malt. Taste is big smooth dark caramel malt, medium bitterness with no real hop flavor, and strong oaky finish. Clove and heavy allspice notes linger. I get what they’re going for here, and it’s close, but this would be much better if they eased up a bit on the spices and notched up the hops. Maybe a little more (or less?) time with the oak chips, as that flavor is kinda harsh too.
Though I’m having this in the Summer, hey, cheers, I’ve had this fresh and here’s the rest of my take on this:
This was poured into a pint glass (winter warmer, let’s not overdo what is meant to be for this brew).
The appearance was a fairly semi-dark to settling orange to brown color with a one finger white to off-white foamy head dissipating within a fair light lacing stringing itself all around the glass.
The smell had a decent cinnamon to clove-like spiciness to allow a fairly decent sweet chocolate sweetness (Belgian-like to me, but that’s okay, I don’t mind).
The taste was sweet and spicy and winter-inviting: light orange/tangerine sort of flavoring here and there.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it.

Hazy brick red pour with a tan head. The aroma and flavor of this beer is way off. I get some toffee and some light dark fruit notes but there is also a strong rotten dark fruit character as well as some tartness which I assume is a sign of infection. Sampled at the Alaskan Barleywine festival. Notes of chocolate, spicy, cinnamon. The mouth feel is a bit thin.

Deep brown, clear. Malty, dark bread and spice, some light astringency. Not bad.

22 oz. bottle- Pours dark ruby red with a one finger light tan head that reduces in a minute or so. Aroma is cinnamon, clove is noticeable, oak, maybe some wine notes, very unique, and tart, this is odd, interesting actually, not your average winter warmer. The taste is cinnamon and tart again, weird, I like it, but weird. Body is medium, carbonation is medium high. Overall this is a hard one, I like that they changed it up, not sure if the tartness is supposed to be there or it’s an off note. No masterpiece, but I did enjoy it. Bomber. Pours a dark brownish burgundy color with a half-inch of tan foam and lacing around the glass. Aroma is a mix of holiday spices, orange peel and mulled wine. The taste is mostly cinnamon, clove and allspice upfront followed by notes of red wine, oak and ginger. The hops and malt flavors are barely detectable. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and well-carbonated while the finish delivers more holiday spices along with some mild astringency. Much like their Pumpkin Spice beer, it’s a little one-dimensional.
