22 ounce bottle in a tulip glass. Aroma is pears and apples, smells and looks like champagne. Pale yellow, straw appearance, very bubbly. Taste was not nearly as boozy as I had expected. My first thought was that they were bluffing on the 16% abv in order to conveniently match up with the anniversary number, but after about 15 minutes and an impaired set of senses, I didn’t doubt it as much. In other words, this stuff is impressively drinkable. Floral and pungent like powerful wine, and still smooth and light bodied. Taste is like the nose with pears and apples and floral notes. Obviously sweet and only a background of booziness. Overall, a bit of a gimmick that should be approached delicately. I would like to share a bottle of this with others, because anything more than a few ounces is a handful.

Pours a clear golden yellow on tap with fluffy white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is Belgian yeast, lemon and straw esters. Taste follows, a hint of that peppery note from the yeast, but no real booziness. Solid, nothing crazy but a good beer.

Strykzone (7356) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - AUG 14, 2013
Sampled at 4 Hands. Holy ABV. This is clear darker gold with a bit of goam. The alcohol is well hidden somehow. A little fruit and malts. Reminds me of a malt liquor. It does burn on the way down.

Draft sample. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malt, a touch of candi sugar, light citrus, wood, herbal notes and some alcohol. Some yeast and a touch spicy. Drinks less than 16%.
