Draft at the Sybarite Pig. Snifter. Pours a deep gold color with slight haze. Thin head and small lacing. Aroma is very bready with some sweet fruits and cloves. The taste is also very bready and sweet. Cloves and floral notes throughout. You can tell it is high alcohol but it didn’t seem like 16%. Nice medium body with little carbonation. Finishes sweet and aromatic.

22oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark gold with minimal head. Aroma of baking spices with some banana and clove. Taste is medium sweet. Banana and clove with a little green apple and baking spice. Medium bodied with a thin yet slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long boozy warm finish. Overall, great.

Draft sampler, at the brewery. Hazy amber color, with a head that should be lacing up except for these recyclable cornstarch cups. Sweet smell verges on corn-ness, but still pretty good. The malt profile is light, again with a little sweetness and a taste of autolyzed yeast, but leaving an impression of candy made from malt extract. Alcohol is very well hidden, though. Only when I started getting numb did I ask and find out it’s 16% abv to match the 16th Anniversary.

Sample from 650 ml bottle. Clear, golden colour with a thin, white head. Sweet aroma with fruits, pale malts, spicy and herbal hops, light yeasts. Taste is sweet. Full body, creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes sweet, fruity and spicy. Rich and "fat" beer.

portableparty (2379) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JUN 24, 2013
22 oz. bottle. Pours clear gold with a tight quick soapy white head that fades to a little wispy film and thin collar. Aroma has some spice yeast bubblegum and fruitiness. Taste is sweet and shows some spice with some subtle clove ginger and bubblegum and finishes warming. Palate is slick and warming. Pretty scary for being 16 abv. Not very noticeable.
