Bottle. Amber-orangey-gold pour, frothy white head with decent retention. Nose is caramel, dried grass, candied orange peel, dates. Mouth is relatively sweet, lots of caramel, grass and a subtle bitterness, some orange, warm finish for a märzen. Skyview (6055) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2016
Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours a semi-clear golden amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of roasted sweet caramel malt, a hint of floral hops and a touch of cream tartar Taste is medium bodied with flavors of sweet caramel malt and floral hops and a touch of fruit. Finish is semi-sweet with a caramel malt and floral hops. A nice Munich style oktoberfest and even has some aging smoothness detected in the finish. vyvvy (6478) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - SEP 3, 2016
It pours bronze with an off white head. The aroma has dry roasted malt, oak and light toffee. It has a medium body with light carbonation. The taste is fairly dry for the style with lots of woodiness, spice, and crusty bread. Good. tmoreau (4369) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 27, 2016
On tap at Ellyn’s in Glen Ellyn, L., dispensed to a house-logoed tulip showing a fairly clear, light mahogany hue, with a finger’s width of off white head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was some dark caramel & dried fruit sweetness, toasted maltiness, with a light but distinct Munich scent. Better than medium bodied, with fair carbonation, and a mild creaminess to the mouthfeel, the taste was as the aroma notes, including a slightly roasted, earthy, and lightly tannic bitterness that lingered, with noticeable alcohol presence. Would have appreciated a dryer, less sweet finish, but a tasty, Marzen "on steroids", nonetheless.

Alcohol taste and smell with this beer. Kind of bready with alcohol lingering within the taste. Sits ok on the palate. Not what I would call a oktoberfest beer, very poor example. Palidor19 (3188) - Brandon, Florida, USA - APR 9, 2016
A little syrupy, very sweet. Slight nutty, slight spicy. Has a medium palate with a low carbonated beer. Nice beer for a end of day

A light copper color, pours with a nice fluffy head. Carmel, some light roast malt on the nose and the first sip. The profile rounds out with just a touch of hops, and maybe some dryness from the oak. A lighter marzen that hides the higher ABV. JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAR 13, 2016
Tan with a hint of copper in color. Somewhat fluffy light khaki head. Fairly weak head. I catch hints of toasted malt and sour mash and a wisp of noble hops, but not enough to make me take notice. Starts sweet with toasted malt and caramel notes. Hints of oak and floral hops. Pleasing in a sweet marzen way. A bit more toasted malt and tone down the caramel and floral notes and this one is golden. 10/14

Poured into a perfect pint.
3.5 A: Clear light orange color. Two fingers of frothy/creamy beige head. Retention is about average and lots of spotty lacing is left.
5.0 S: This smells absolutely wonderful. Toasted malts, layers of caramel, and that lager yeast twang. Oak adds a nice layer of complexity with vanilla contributions. This is whatever the olfactory version of "smooth" is. It’s just such a pleasant, subtle nose.
4.5 T: The taste can’t live up to the nose, but that’s okay since it’s still delicious. Caramel and toasted malts, subtle vanilla, and a light metallic lager yeast flavor. Everything is right where it should be.
4.75 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Silky smooth with a pleasant creaminess. Near perfect here.
5.0 D: The best octoberfest beer I’ve had this season. It may not have bold flavors or a ton of complexity, but it’s so subtly well done, that it’s a near perfect beer.
