UPDATED: AUG 4, 2016 A rather potent and heavy version of an Oktoberfest. Very nice but nothing you would throw back a lot of. Serving: Bottle tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - SEP 22, 2011
12oz bottle, this octoberfest styled lager is a darker amber color with large frothy off white head. aroma is of malt and kind of like sweetbreads. didnt read bottle description at first and there was a dark deep core taste i couldnt put my finger on and then figured out is was aged in french oak barrels. there is a mild spiciness to this beer. there is also a buttery slick fell to it. Draught at Small Bar Fullerton. Hazy dark amber color. Lots of sweet malt in the aroma, some herbal hops, and a light woodiness. Sweet flavor with an oaky touch and a big bready maltiness. Lightly hopped. Full and smooth in the mouth. A bit too sweet overall. some more intense hopping and I can see this going somewhere. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 15, 2010
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2014 Bomber. Pours a somewhat murky ruby orange with a small fine white fizzy frothy head. At first I thought I really liked the aroma but now I’m picking up some things I don’t like so much, nice warming nutty caramelly gassy munich malt bit of alcohol, the negative is this acidic like red apple vinegary thing. First taste is hot, boozy, soft dull sweetness, bit of tartness, stale caramel, musty woodiness, quite a bit of bitterness in the finish, chalky astringent, leaves a candied taste lingering but definitely isn’t overly sweet. Medium bodied, soft fine fizzy carbonation, feels fairly flabby and flat. 3.1 [rerate 2014 bottle, really enjoying this now, great marzen!] Atom (2443) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 10, 2015
12oz bottle pours a clear Amber with a large khaki head. Aroma of faint mildly sweet caramel malt, fruity, and a light spice. Taste of caramel malts, fruity hops and yeast, there is a bitterness and spice on the finish I’m not digging.

Malty, fairly balanced with a somewhat dry finish. A bit of earthiness and a lingering aftertaste. portableparty (2350) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - SEP 18, 2010
Bottle. Pour is deep hazy copper with a subtle off white head that dissipates to a ring around the glass. Aroma is dried sour cherries and malt and wood. Taste is sugary malt and wood with some carmel as well. Palate is slick and sticky with minimal carbonation and finishes dry. boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - SEP 28, 2014
