3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 26, 2006 New rating, 2/26/06. Got a fresher bottle this time (best by 1/30/06), so let’s recheck this pup: I can see I was seduced then by malts that get concentrated with age. This one pours a darker gold color, and a bit more haze than in most American iterations of a weizen. Big banana nose at pour, but not much in the glass, just a sprightly wheat character under a fluffy, short-lived head, poured into a 12-oz. weizen glass. Banana comes back in the taste, with mild notes of clove, and a touch of bubble-gum and vanilla. Not quite the heady feeling I get when drinking a properly-presented Hacker-Pschorr, but I think real Hefeweizen fans will enjoy it.

Another 3-year-old bottle from my stash, so this is a review of how well it ages, which a weiss is not meant to do.
A slight flowery nose when opened, then pours a dark weiss color, with a little less than standard haziness. The spicy flavor has subsided, leaving the malt to deepen to an almost syrupy richness. Hop flavor is subtle, more to make the alcohol feel a little warmer. Taste is well out of the style profile, but ages to a fine beer nonetheless.
Bottle. Cloudy straw yellow with a very small head for a weiss. Banana, what, grass and medicine. Not impressed by this one.... Beerhunter111 (22513) - P´Castle, GERMANY - OCT 1, 2017
12 fl.oz. bottle. A almost clear pale golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of banana and phenolic esters, some clove. Taste of clove, mild sweet banana, phenolic esters, nothing special. WillemsUrenkel (2021) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - SEP 23, 2017
Good morning Illinois from Germany! 0,355 l bottle from Beer Supreme, Oldenburg. Murky flat yellow in the glass, small one finger head. A lot of chewing gum and a little bit citrus on the nose. Taste? Not a lot. Also some chewing gum, less caramell, maybe some orange. Watery. Below average. Lager43 (51) - Watertown, Connecticut, USA - JUL 17, 2017
A superior Hefeweizen. Even better tan the Two Roads version. Equal to the many German ones I have had.

12 oz single bottle from Hy Vee Wine & Spirits - Council Bluffs (Madison Ave). Mostly clear, bright orange appearance with a small head. Aroma of wheat, toasted grain, light hops and hints of banana/clove. Similar flavor, adding mild malt sweetness and a touch of hop bitterness. Light bodied and easy to drink overall.

12 oz bottle. It pours a light golden color as you take in the aroma of bananas. There is a very good banana/wheat taste to it that make for very smooth and easy drinking. djd07 (15544) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 29, 2016
