Giant 3 liter novelty bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a few fingers of off-white rapidly dissipating head. Strong sweet hop aroma. Starts off with hint of bitterness and raisins, and eventually ends with a nice sharp hoppy twang. I really like this.

Cask at Pony. May have been a day or 2 too old. Still good and not stale or oxidized just not super fresh. Pours a slight bit darker than heavy handed- med to deep amber with a very thin film of a head- dissipates to nothing. Aroma is more crystal, sharp and perhaps less pronounced hops than the original- grapefruit, grass, citrus, pine. flavor has more earth and mint, some grass, grapefruit, mango, more sharp malts, toast, caramel. Appearance: beautiful copper and orange under a tall pithy head. Fades in the shape of a donut and the texture of meringue. Blotchy lace and swirls with a still generous head.

Nose: oak up front and personal. Oak, spice, orange and apple peel. The oak is freshly cut planks. Lemon freshness mingles in her bubbly effervescence along with fresh hop leaves. Tangerine and mandarins mingle.
Palate: beautiful. Dry sweetness in the back along with being sweet on top. Dry and bitter underneath with hop leaves, citrus skins, and oak planks. For the oak planks think the planks which go into making those barrels we love so much which age the beers and scotch we also love so much. Gently dries top of tongue. Spice and oak linger on the breath while orange, apple, mandarin, and grapefruit parade underneath. Pleasantly soft and light mouthfeel all things considered; carries flavors well.
Final Thoughts: I love oak. Granted I love all things that come from the grain whether they are fermented only or fermented then distilled to deliver unto me those brown spirits I adore so much. Two Brothers continues to impress.
Bomber. Pours a medium cloudy, orange-brown. Thick lasting ivory head leaving a very sticky lace. A perfect looking brew. Very sweet nose of caramel, honey, a little grapefruit, oak, and apple. Again, very sweet up front; no shortage of malt here. Taste of caramel, resin, citrus, hay and mango. Slightly bitter on the finish (84 IBU), but nothing that would imply this is an 8% brew. Alcohol is well masked. I would like to try this again with a fresher bottle.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 On draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. Pours a hazy copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and oak. Cask at Blind Tiger, NYC. Pours amber with a mild, off-white head. Strong pine and earthy hop aroma with some light citrus. Sweet flavor with some caramel maltiness and hints of vanilla, followed by herbal hops. Medium in body with sof carbonation. Finishes bitter, semi-spicy and fairly sweet. bottle shared by jlab: Aroumatic toffee and raisins. reddish brown pour. Toffee and caramel malts, nutty, herbal and some breadiness. Not too much bitter but finishes astringent and grassy.
