I’ve never had Braggot before but apparently its really good. It tastes kinda like if you took the hops out of 90minute IPA, just the malt part, mixed with mead. Which I already like. So its one of the best brews I’ve had. Alcohol is well hidden. Easy as hell to drink. Very Good.
Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear amber with a half finger of white head. aroma is sweet with honey and a decent floral hop aroma. Taste is fruity with vanilla and oak and some sweet honey. medium bodied with a slick texture. Lively, almost fizzy carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, I’m really liking this one. Pours a clear gold with a thin off white head. Honey, toast, floral hops, spicy hops and oily grain to the aroma. Lots of sharp floral honey and toast flavors. Off dry, to oily feel with a light carbonaiton.

Bottle aged for quite some time and served in my Lil’ Karmeliet tulip: The first pours was a beautiful sunser coppery hue but the second displays lots of little floaties. The aroma is super flowery with just a bit of honey, faded hops and grainy, a bit of oxidization and some earthiness. The taste is surprisingly a bit more bitter and far less sweet than expected which is a good thing! Seems the yeasties really finished off the sugars leaving me with a dry bodied but dry and refreshing beverage. I aged this is hopes of getting some sourness but alas when I want a beer to go bad it doesn’t! However I am more than happy with the results, somehow I am really digging this. 22 oz bottle from Binnys SL (Chicago, IL). Shared with the Mrs. Pours a near transparent deep orange amber glow, a bit darker, healthy winter sunset hues are darker, striking edges. A frothy whitish head dies to a loose film and laces small. Aromas are a bit grainy, bready malts, a touch stale, honey and wildflowers. Grass, florals, and gentle orange blossom. Gentle apple, a bit of spicy yeast. Bready and grainy. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some gentle fruity elements up front show apple, gentle honey, honeycrisp, and some mellow lemon. Florals and grass, gentle orange blossom. A bit dry and thin into the middle, I catch a touch of heat, a touch of pickle (Where did that come from?!), and some gentle apple elements. Kiss of pear, gentle spritzy dryness into the backend. Grainy, dry bready malts. A touch yeasty, bready, gentle spice. The beer elements comes on stronger back there. A bit of warmth into the lower belly. An odd beer. A bit thin, a bit lacking life for me. The beer itself seems the problem here, not the mead portion which, though small and more gentle compared to others, has some character. I think the beer portion is where this falls flat. Meh. 22 oz bottle, Andersons Columbus. Amber pour; slight white head dissipates to a tiny ring. Light aroma is mostly sweet, honey, floral. Flavor also surprisingly light; I get sweetness but not much honey; I would say this is oaked, with notes of vanilla and wood; very light bitterness with a strange flat papery-ness persisting. Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at a friends house while transferring some homebrew. Appearance is a moderate gold, relatively transparent, small white head that rims around the glass. Aroma is light with a rich honey profile, maybe a little bit of caramel malt. Taste equally rich in honey, definitely sweet, more of a mead than an amber ale. Not bad, unexpected.
