22 oz bottle from Binnys (Bolingbrook, IL). Kinda excited for this one after Sidekick and with reviews. Pours a nice deeper golden orange hue, a bit dulled, mellow haze, more lively carbonation overall. A cakey whitish head atop sticks around as a decent layer, laces ok. Thicker pretty stick around. Dulled hues overall but still quite striking. Aromas offer a distinct citrusy lemon and florals, green tea elements of decent strength are a bit citrusy, a bit woody, grass and earth. Some cleaner bready malts, florals, a a touch of resiny elements. Nice, medium or decent strength tapers out a bit. Initial is lighter bodied, perhaps a bit thin or in the APA realm, clean bready malts secondary to some woody and earthy green tea, some lemon, faint lime. Florals, a touch of soap, green tea reaffirms. Middle is a bit woody and lemony, a touch soapy, some bread, clean malt bill is bready, crisp, grainy. Quickly moving back into a dry, woody green tea experience, lemon and floral earthy hops of decent strength as we round the corner. A touch oxidized, older hop elements at times. Decent to medium bitterness, clean malt body. A solid beer, the green tea element is certainly intriguing. I’d prefer some upped bitterness as we round this bad boy out, but overall, it’s ok. I do like green tea a lot though. wlajwl (7069) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JUL 1, 2013
Aroma is citrus, malts and fruit/herbal/mild sweetness element. The flavor is citrus, malts, herbal elements, mild sweetness and a tangy/mildly bitter finish. DrnkMcDermott (3137) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Sampling at the brewery. I talked to one of the guys who came up with this, and he agreed it’s hard to say what green tea should taste like in beer. Poured from a jockey box, it’s pretty cloudy, with an amber-to-orange body and a thin head. Smell has some citrusy hops; I was told it involves Zythos from Australia. A lot more fruitiness in the first couple of sips. Really nice tropical fruit hops that help mitigate any astringency from the green tea. Makines it nice and sweet and malty, with a good fruit overtone. Only slightly bitter toward the end. I ended up rating the taste an "8" because it does grow on you. UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Happy Gnome. Clear rich yellow gold pour with a pure white head. Juicy citrus and tea in the aroma and taste. One of the better offerings I’ve had from this brewer. Atom (2576) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 27, 2013
Bomber pours a bubbly clear golden/orange with a large khaki head. Aroma of tropical fruits, mango, citrus, some earthy green tea, and bready caramel malt. Taste is malt forward bready caramel, with green tea balanced nicely with hops. Pretty enjoyable! I made my own green tea pale ale glad I got some thing to compare it to.

Slightly hazy gold pour with a 2 finger, soapy, off white head. Aroma is big on juicy citrus and tropical hops, a little biscuit, toast, caramel and a pleasant, sort of earthy floral leafiness, that could be more hops or the tea. Flavor is much more heavy on caramel than I would have guessed from the aroma, a little toffee, lots of biscuit, the hops take a while to come in, but offer a very enjoyable profile, mango forward tropical notes, juicy citrus, and as the finish comes around so does that earthy, leafy floral note, that I am still not sure of the origin of, though if green tea weren’t in the name I wouldn’t think of it as anything other than hops. Palate has a nice creamy feel throughout, with a crisp, slightly drier finish and a moderate strength, slightly sharp carbonation, all of which fit the beer nicely. I really didn’t expect much from this beer, but I was very pleasantly surprised, tasty and decently refreshing with a fairly unique flavor. mikesaum (712) - Newark, Ohio, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Gold orange pour, creamy white head and spotty lacing. Smells juicy and tropical from the hops, a sweet and almost creamy aroma that makes me keep sniffing. Hops, caramel, cream, maybe small tea hints, i was expecting a bit more of a herbal earthy tone with this. Pretty good, could be better. Bacterial (3051) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Amber pour with a nice white head. Nose is dank and luscious hops. Sweet, hoppy and a bitterness in the finish - maybe some tea notes in the finish as well? Based on the description, shouldn’t they have called this Murder Panda? maxcoinage (34) - Wauconda, Illinois, USA - JUN 20, 2013
16 oz draft at Beer Market.
Aroma - citrus / floral notes
Appearance - light golden
Taste - mild hop flavor that’s well balanced. As it warmed up the tea flavor started coming through
Palate - medium carb, its a bit of a sticky resinous
Overall - great tasting beer esp on a hot day. Not sure I’d buy a bomber since that’s the only format its sold in but if it came in 6 packs I might pick it up boxofrane (2559) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Draft at craft ale house. Pours clear orange with a small white head and tons of carbonation. The aroma has a lot of sweet biscuit and some light florals. The taste has some sweet caramel, medium bitter, thick palate. Solid.
