4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: Dried fruits, spices--clove, ginger--and hints of caramel. Layered and complex.
Appearance: Dark straw color with minimal head that dissipates quickly.
Taste: Medium sweetness tempered by a light sourness in the finish. Well balanced and even.
Palate: Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, long finish.
Overall: This is a solid, well crafted beer. I would have liked a little more carbonation and body, but it’s a really complex and well designed brew. I’d seek it out again.
Bomber. Dirty yellow golden pour, fairly clear, small head. Quite sweet - candied sugar, light fruit and yeast. Not bad. hotstuff (5201) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 12, 2013
Backlog rating 3-11-2009 (Bottle) This beer pours a small off-white fizzy head that has good retention, one ring of lacing, floaties, visible carbonation, and the body hue is straw with a golden tint. The aroma is spicy, fruity, sugar, and malty. The taste is alcohol, spicy, fruity, sugar, malty, and some hops. The palate is spritzy and this is a medium bodied beer. This beer ends with a semi-dry finish. Overall, this is a beer I would drink again and the ABV does not overpower the taste. rubbishystuff (2537) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 2, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2015 Somewhat misses the mark for the style a little too sweet and lacked some tartness. However I did enjoy this beer, smooth, easy drinking, decently spiced and yeasty aroma in a good way. Maybe a little off butteriness? On tap at Fountainhead. Pours a clear deep gold with a white head that to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and floral with a light sweet fruit backing. Flavor starts with sweet grains that last throughout and are joined by flOra and light fruits. A touch syrupy on the tongue.

Bottle. Hazy golden yellow color, scant white head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is also very sweet and a bit plain. Rando7 (779) - Iowa, USA - OCT 30, 2012
Bottle pours golden yellow with thin head, not the fluffy head you’d expect from a tripel. Aroma some light fruits, Belgian yeast and spice. Sweet taste of Belgian yeast, light fruits, citrus, clove and coriander. Palate fairly thick with light carbonation.DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 21, 2012
Not what I expect from a tripel, I’ve had others that tasted similar described as Belgian golden ale or something. Decent Belgian ale.
22oz 2012 bottle. Belgian-style yeast, banana, light spice. Lightly sweet, and spicy taste. Little bitter. Alcohol is well hidden. Soft, smooth carbonation, medium body. Dry texture. Mostly clear, golden color. Little white head. Little lace. Enjoyable tripel, well done. ccex (1344) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 10, 2012
22 oz bottle pours an almost clear orange with a tiny white head and almost no lacing. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with lots of toffee, and notes of coriander, floral hops, and molasses. Body is light to medium with little carbonation. Tastes sweet with a long slightly boozy finish. Very good but not great. I’ll probably pass this by the next time I see it, looking for a great tripel instead. tmoreau (4513) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - OCT 10, 2012
Shared bomber poured to snifters at Lunar Brewing Co.. Showed a hazed, orange/amber color, with modest, white head foam that reduced quickly to a thin ring & film, and left some light spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was light yeast, soft malt, light spiciness, some fruitiness, and candi sweetness. The flavor was similar, adding a low hop bitterness, hidden alcohol, with a light to medium body, low carbonation, but higher sweetness than I would prefer. Blame it on it’s youth(just recently bottled), or the low effervescence. Probably should have been cellared for awhile.
