Black Ale Brewed With Coffee Beans RED EYE Coffee porter is one of a series of special limited run beers in styles that are more EXTREME or unusual. Porter’s an elusive dark ale that has been constantly changing during its long 300 year history. We figured it was about RIPE for some REINVENTION. 23.3 Plato 40IBUs 9.2 ABV

On tap at The Top. Nice porter with big coffee notes that really doesn’t drink up to the ABV. Pretty decent overall, but nothing overly exciting.

Patrickctenchi (6586) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - JUN 28, 2015
Bottle: Pours black with a frothy tan head. Aroma is milk chocolate, a touch of licorice, sweet coffee. Taste is creamy, chocolate malt, vanilla bean, deep roasted coffee and milk.... Wonderful stuff.....drinks like a sweet stout at half the advertised ABV.....excellent.

suprchunk (2994) - Crestview, Florida, USA - JUN 19, 2015
Dark brown pour. Big heavy tan head. Plenty of lacing.Malty, roasty aroma. Not much coffee. Slight metallic note. Coffee flavor with a sweet malt, vanilla, caramel. A little too sweet, but not bad.

AWISLguy (3109) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 17, 2015
Bomber from Harrison - thanks! Caramel, raisin, light roast. Some alcohol presence. Solid. Not overly porter-y or roast-y. 13.8

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a small foamy brown mostly diminishing head of finely sized bubbles that left behind an opaque dark black brown body with no visible carbonation and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was on mild brown malts. The palate was soft darn brown malt with a strong coffee finish. Very nice overall.

Christpuncher (3112) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 10, 2015
Decent coffee stout from two brothers. Strong coffee and malt flavored. Pours reddish brown with a tan head. JD a draft pour at Lincoln station. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Quite good, but I wanted even more! Not the smoothest of coffee porters I have had the pleasure of trying. It bumps and skips to a dry, albeit sweet finish. Espresso does not overwhelm and is integrated well enough. Above average rating, but I want to see this improved even more. 22oz bomber

PorterPounder (7961) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 30, 2015
Tallahassee, Fl. - Growler Country - on tap. Deep dark brown pour, silky off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Nice chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Solid porter flavor with some underlying earthy topsoil notes, hints of licorice, espresso, bold chocolate essence, finishes with nice bittersweet baker’s chocolate. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Solid.

hopscotch (11078) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 28, 2014
Bottle... Pours black with no head. The nose is a blend of coffee, caramel, vanilla and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor is a bit thin, but offers deeply-roasted notes of burnt cocoa and singed nuts with lightly acidic and acrid components. Finishes roasty and slightly tart. Bottle courtesy of FlandersNed!

djd07 (14469) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 19, 2014
Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, dark chocolate and coffee. Thin mouthfeel with sweet roast and chocolate with light bitterness. Decent.
