Very dark pour (Bomber Bottle) with a medium head. The malt are very dominant showing the grains right up front. You get some nice background notes of hops which stay long into the finish. blutt59 (6576) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 2, 2011

22oz bottle. Pours a black body with a slight ruby tint. Finger-width, dense, creamy, frothy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice, clingy lacing. Aroma is pretty solid. Some roast, licorice, medium sweet caramels, cocoa, lager yeast, a touch of bread, and a light grassy citrus hop. Flavor is similar. A good amount of roasts up front with a medium caramel and cocoa sweetness. Some coffee, toffee, licorice spice, and a touch of bread. Finishes very dry, but balanced with a nice mix of roasts and grassy hops that give this a medium bitterness with a distinct chocolate and just a slight malt sweetness. Very lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and soft, moderately lively carbonation. Overall, I’m a big fan of a well made schwarzbier and this is definitely a solid example. Balanced towards the dry roasts and grass making this very flavorful with a solid finish and really nice chocolate with just enough malt sweetness to balance. Good one. dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 26, 2011
(22oz bottle from jcnd9803!). Its about time I open this thing up. Pours a clear dark brown (cola color when held up to the light) with a nice creamy, pillow-top khaki head. Nice carbonation. Aroma has lots of cocoa and caramel. Taste is sweet with a bit of roast. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Pretty nice beer. Almost stout-like. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JUL 6, 2013
I believe Pawola22 sent me this bottle. Dark brown with an off-white head. The aroma is full of roasted malt, chocolate, milk and cocoa. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of chocolate and powdered cocoa character as well as some roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Dark mahogany with decent, creamy, tan head / Light nose of roast barley and sour malt / Light to medium body, dry, lively carbonation, crisp with some chewiness on the fair finish / Modest flavors of roast barley and chocolate / Not remarkable, but good. saxo (19236) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 5, 2011

Bottle, 22oz. A clear, dark brown beer with a reddish tint. A small, off-white head sits on top. Cocoa, dark chocolate and dried fruits on the nose. Nice, but not very traditional. The flavor has a nice bitterness, some citrus peel and some cocoa and dried fruits. There’s some bitterness going on in the end, as well as roasted malts, orange and cocoa. A quite pleasant one. 111105 fonefan (50520) - VestJylland, DENMARK - NOV 19, 2011
