Buddy, pal, mate, brother (or sister) from another mother, compadre . . . sidekick. All of these are ways to describe someone or something that is always at your side. Sidekick extra pale ale is one of those things. This golden colored ale is loaded with juicy citrus and passion fruit hop aroma yet balanced with malt and hop character. A true companion.

Great beer when you rate it for what it is. Only 5.1% so you can drink it all day, yet still has plenty of hop flavor. As pale ales go, I really can only think of a few that do it better. This is my summer go to beer. Hoppy, crisp, good floral aroma, drinkable all day. Nuff said.

For me Sidekick is a great lawnmower beer. Not quite a Session IPA and not really a Summer seasonal. Light, citrus hops and aroma work well in this APA. Looked right a home in my Schimdts of Philadelphia beer glass.

Draft at roundhouse. Light grassy aroma. Very clear pale yellow. Taste is faintly grassy with a non descrpt sweetness. Quenching but seems muted in the hops.

This bottled brew from a beer festival poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent light orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild citrus breads and hops. An OK brew just nothing special.

From a 16oz can, into a nonic pint glass. Pours a light, cloudy yellow with lasting thin layer of head and great lacing. Very pale as pale ales go. Aroma is sweet fruit juicy and maybe some grass. Taste is short and fresh, almost tart with some straw and grape or raspberry. Lively carbonation and relatively light aftertaste make this really sessionable and nice for a hot day outside. Nice!

Can. Very pale, clear pour with virtually no head. A little soap. basically. Aroma is pretty much citrus peel and grass clippings. Flavor is similar, with a little hop bitterness. Finishes fairly dry. Good for the style.

Bottle. Golden pour, decent head and retention, nose is citrus, tropical fruit and some geraniums. Mouth is medium bodied, dry and tastes like it smells. Decent session beer from a brewery that I dont typically find many good things to say about.

On tap in Chicago. Very pale straw colored body. Very fruity beer. Almost had maybe a raspberry taste too it. Could be passion fruit? Either way, it wasnt really my thing, but was still a solid beer.

Refreshing fruity pale with a mild pine bitterness. Rather short finish but well worth the time.

Bottle. Fairly pleasant. Good balance of carbonation. A little bitterness to the taste. Pale yellow.
