A: Copper colored with minimal Head, I really like the look of this in the glass
S: citrusy and floral smell, can smell the hop fragrance nicely, not too overpowering
T: moderate bitterness, I liked that there was a nice malt presence to coincide with the bitterness. Too often there’s usually a tradeoff between one and the other. Fruit and floral notes come through.
O: At 30 IBU it’s not an “extreme” IPA and it’s not trying to be. I like this beer if I want to have a few and don’t feel like being overwhelmed. It has a nice palate and a balanced flavor that I can appreciate. In the end, I would take a Domaine DuPage from the Two Brother’s Brewery over this one, it is only a few IBUs less and has a ton of flavor and character, but I still recommend this one as well.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 1/12/2014. Pours moderately cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, toast, biscuit, light caramel, floral, grass, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, floral, grass, toast, biscuit, light caramel, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Light floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, orange/lemon zest, floral, grass, toast, biscuit, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of hop and malt flavors; with a great hop/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice pale ale. All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. A nice pale ale that I no longer seek out, but is still great to find at a party. Nothing about the beer is oft putting, but nothing really blows my mind either. Despite the name, it isn’t crazy bitter by any means, and has a nice light hop profile and light mouthfeel. It’s not flashy, but could be a good go-to depending on the drinker’s taste and what else is available. Nero55 (936) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Bottle. Copper with medium white head. Aroma of citrus and pine hops. Light body with not much of a malt body and some hop bitterness. A nice session beer. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - NOV 15, 2013
Pours a medium golden color with a finger of foam. The nose is a tad strange and floral but also has a punch of honey toast and malt with bits of citrus and grass, The palate follows with clean balance and a highly drinkable palate. Touch of floral hay lingers making it a bit more interesting but also a little strange. Nice pale though.

Pours a golden amber with a thin white-tan head mostly dissipating. Nose is hoppy. Average creaminess. Taste is mostly hoppy on top of a backbone of malt. Not overly bitter despite its name, with a nice dry finish. A better than average Pale Ale that pairs well with chili and Tostitos. MRJohnbarleycorn (2) - Illinois, USA - OCT 21, 2013 does not count
citrus, hazy, minimal head, medium bitterness, lightly sour, soft carbonation, bitter, medium body. Drank this out of a bottle in a pint glass. I don’t like pale ales, typically but this is a good one. These guys know how to brew beer and I’m not just saying that because I’m from Chicago. Mittenator (1612) - Michigan, USA - OCT 19, 2013
Bottle. Slight bitter hops and a bit of grapefruit. Light, slightly sweet with some malt at the end blutt59 (6564) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Bottled, amber color with tree ring lace, excellent balance of malt and spicy pine , smooth malty finish , great APA pablo951 (672) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2013
Had it at Honky Tonk BBQ in Chicago. Poured a thin white head with solid even lacing, and a murky amber hue. It has a subtle hop aroma and a malt hop bitter taste.
