Sample at World Of Beer. This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and dark fruit. Medium body with flavors of earthy malt, chocolate and dried fruits. The finish is sweet with a malty and nutty aftertaste. Decent overall. crossovert (13078) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 6, 2012

Bottle. Raisin and brown sugar aroma. Dark brown with minimal head. Sweet chocolate/toffee malt and lightly bitter herbal finish. Very tasty. hopscotch (11159) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 23, 2008
Bottle... VBWT2008... Clear, very, very dark ruby ale with a small, creamy, white head. Vinous aroma and flavor of an English barleywine. Esters and deeply roasted malts abound. Sweet chocolate, dark fruits and caramel stand out. Enough bitterness to keep things interesting and prevent the sweet malts from overwhelming my gustatory system. Medium to full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lengthy, chocolaty, bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) finish. SoLan provided the bottle. Thanks Alan! kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007
