A strange aroma of barnyard or manure tinged with a gueze like sourness. Taste of normal golden ale with, some apple, some light sourness, honey, lavender hops, bready malt. Disliked at first but got used to it. Still not totally sold but interesting I guess.

On cask at Alehouse, Reading. Pale with a slight haze. Condition wise, it was as flat as a pancake. A good citrus taste, with hints of grapefruit and possibly raspberries. Ends with a subtle sherbet like bitternes

500ml bottle served cool in a shaker. Cookie dough aroma. Slightly hazed gold, with a pinkie width of white head. Butterscotch and vanilla flavour, strong on malts. Ponderous for a blond, drinks more like an ESB. Could do with a good bit of a hop lift.

500ml bottle complete with bird feather, 5.6% BB May 2016 as ’Two Cocks 1643 Viscount Golden Ale’. Orange, clear, lightly sparkling, small foamy white head. Aroma is honey, crystallised sugars, boiled sweets and sweet pastries. Ultra-sweet and malty nose. Body is medium to light, soft carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is malt syrup, sugars, light noble hop bitterness in the finish. Quite sweet and plain, but nothing wrong with it. Pretty drinkable.

Cask conditioned at The Lamb & Flag, Oxford. Gold to amber with white head. Full and fruity beer, there is a sweetish peachy character, then a light caramel, toffee note comes through, slightly boiled sweets. Decent palate. Reasonable beer.

500ml bottle in The Wild Card Brewery Tap on 28th March 2015. Nice. Golden body, good white crown on top. Caramel nose with a more hop based taste: strange blend but I liked it, hidden sweetness in the brew below the hop bitterness. The feather on the bottles tickle me too!

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is buttery caramel citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a floral hop bitter, light citrus palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Kauge (1649) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 30, 2014
Transferring some earlier reviews from my blog to RB. Mai 2014, (City Beverage, £ 3,20), 50 cl. Jook on tume, mesine ja klaar. Aroom meeldiv: karameljas, heinane, suuuti metalne, soojenedes ülipisut läägelt lilleline ja viigimarjane, ja nüüd kui lugesin etiketilt Nelson Sauvini kohalolu, kangastub silme ette tõepoolest valge vein, aga läbi mingi tihke odravine; soojenedes ilmneb ka konkreetsem suhkrune toon. Maitselt mesine või just suhkrune, samas ka hapukas. Kehalt (pigem raskepoolne kui) keskmik, mullisust omajagu, valget veini meenutava torkava happelisusega. Suutunne ühtaegu veidi õline ning rohkem vesine. Suulae jätab valgeveiniselt kuivaks. Millegipärast seostub 19. saj lõpu Põhja-Prantsusmaa stseenidega, umbes sellistega, kus van Gogh ja Cézanne viljapõlde maalisid. Siin sees on mingi tööstusrevolutsiooni-eelne arhailisus.
