COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2008 Re-rate 10/19/08:Bottle. Batch 8677. Thanks a lot for this bottle archmik! Clear, maybe very slightly hazy, deep golden color. Aroma has quite a bit of floral hops with some citrus, but also a nice malty tone with caramel and some cookie notes. A sweetish flavor at first with some malt, continues hoppy and bitter with some grapefruit and with caramel lingering in the background. Medium-bodied with a rounded mouthfeel. A very good balanced IPA. 7/4/8/4/15=3.8

Bottle. Hazy orange with a medium white head. Flowery, citrusy, hoppy nose. Flavor starts with sweetish malts, then comes some nice citric hoppiness. A bitter finish with some grapefruit notes. Medium-bodied with a nice mouthfeel. Very good stuff! 8/3/8//16=3.9

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2007 Re-rate December 2007. Whoa man, this one is way better on draft! Iíve had the pleasure of drinking this one from the bottle, a regular keg, and a 5L home mini-keg, and the draft format works alot better with this beer. The orange hops really "pop" and taste much fresher from the tap. Likewise, the pour imparts a larger, fuller head, more intricate lacing, and a smoother, less sticky palate. Iím beginning to think I might have had a bad bottle for the first go round. Awesome IPA.

Original rating August 2007. Bottle at Redlight Redlight. Courtesy boboski. The body is a cloudy orange-amber color. It looks rather syrupy, with thick legs like a desert wine would have. Not much of a head, just a thin wispy film with a pure white buildup around the rim of the glass. The aroma is obviously hoppy and piney, but there is plenty of caramel and toffee malt to balance it out. The flavor has alot of orange in it, with grapefruit and pine resin both playing prominent roles. There is obviously a high sugar content, as the palate is quite thick and sticky. A little too sticky in my opinion. A very nice IPA, but a little less sugary malts would make it ideal.

Grapefruity piney aroma, sweet and citrus hoppy. Pours a pale amber. Hops upfront, very piney, with citrus notes, grapefruit, hints of sweet malt, but definitely hoppy. Pretty good IPA.

Thank you Yngwie for sharing this great beer! It has been on my wish-list, and Iím not disappointed! Itís warm orange with a nice head and a fruity, hoppy aroma with loads of citrus, tangerine being dominant. The flavour is nice, harmonic and delicious with lots of fruit/citrus, again tangerine is the most dominant. It also has nice caramel notes that balances the bitterness nicely. Itís very charming and harmonic - yummi!!!! 2444

12 oz bottle- Door County. Cloudy orange & fluffy head. A blast of floral aroma hits you right away. First taste was very dry, with strong hops present throughout. Nice carbonation- a lot of bite to this beer. I like the other reviewersí use of "grapefruit" in describing the taste- quite accurate. Really nice beer.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy copper with a medium and lasting head. Aroma of pine resin, fresh grapefruit and sweetened whole-grained granola. Flavor is grapefruit dominating some honey-drenched, bitterish pine cones, and Fruit Loops. Nice balance; the bitter resin counters the fruit loops perfectly in the aftertaste. Palate is just shy of medium-bodied, sort of watery, and dry on the finish.

draft. clear orange gold with moderate fluffy white head. floral hop aroma. solid citrus taste - grapefruit flavor with a light/moderate bitter. crisp finish, sugar levels are in good check. great carbation as well. this one is just perfectly balanced. all the elements are distinct but not overbearing. i think many breweries think that if you hop the hell out of it, it will automatically be a good ipa. (the sebago i just tried is a good example). this guy sets the bar for ipaís imo. is goot. belly goot.

Draft...light, cloudy presentation with fair head, this ale packs a mighty hop punch with an herbal aftertaste which reminds me of oregano or basil. The finish is thick and velvety. I liked this beer much more on draft than out of the bottle for some reason.
