India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Draft...light, cloudy presentation with fair head, this ale packs a mighty hop punch with an herbal aftertaste which reminds me of oregano or basil. The finish is thick and velvety. I liked this beer much more on draft than out of the bottle for some reason.

Poured a real hazy orange and real nice fluffy head. Great citrus hop aroma. Real nice hop flavor and some malt comes through to balance it out a little bit. This is a great beer!!!

A tasty beer, but Iím stunned by the 99 overall rating. Pours hazy, unfiltered and light, light amber, huge head. Ultra hoppy, fruity, sweet aroma. Flavor is good, but faint and watery. The palate is excellent, as the light flavor instantly disappears after a swig, nothing lingers. Iíd like an Imperial version of this beer.

Pours a cloudy orange with a small foamy head. Aroma is fruity & sweet but more than balanced by pungent floral hops. The taste is wonderful - medium crystal malt in such a quantity as to give great character and balance to the excellent hopping - very doughy and heavy but not cloyingly sweet. This has a great body, thin but not too thin, and decent carb. I have never tasted such a balanced, full-bodied IPA.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a golden-amberish hue with a nice, frothy white head. Floral undertones hit the nose right from the start. Perfect balance of malt and hops make this one to remember.

Nice murky orange-amber pour, with a foamy head that leaves pillow lace. Beautiful mixture of citrus and floral notes in the nose. Well done... wonderfully hopped from beginning to end, without overtaking any of the other portions of the brew. Nice orange peel and grapefruit essence in the citrus dept. Very quaffable, as the citrus and malt combine for a perfectly round and smooth mouthfeel. Pine resin lingers in the finish, peppering the back of the mouth with a decent IBU. Again, the drinkability is very much the biggest "pro" of this brew. IPAís are my fave (as are doubles and impyís), and this one doesnít disappoint. ABV doesnít particularly show... possibly in the peppery aftereffects of the finish, there shines a note or two of alcohol, but well-integrated.

Bottle. Great IPA, Great aroma, great flavor. This one starts great at the nose, has an extremely well balance, and finishes the same. Very hoppy, but has the malt to balance. Definately recommend this beer and will have again.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2008 This beer has more than 1000 ratings, yet I lived in the States for 30 years without coming across it. Now I live in Europe and had to get one through a trade (thanks, turdferguson). Appropriately, I drank it while watching "American Beer" for the first time. Pretty, hazy and sunshiny yellow-gold with frothy white head that lasted. Big, fresh hoppy aroma with citrus and floral notes. Tangy and bitter flavor with notes of lemon and cherry wood. Dry finish, mildly bitter aftertaste. Strikes me as a beer interesting enough to sip on a cold day, yet refreshing enough to glug a couple after mowing the lawn. Tasty and versatile and excellent.

On draft at Union Street Public House-Alexandria VA. Poured dark gold and hazy with a small, thick head. Aromas of hops-fragrant but not overwhelming. Tastes of hops but balanced enough to drink several. Very smooth palate and easy going down the throat. Very well done and will buy this when available.
