donandres (527) - Bayombong, PHILIPPINES - MAR 14, 2017
Bottle 22 ounce from Costco, poured to wine glass Appearance: deep amber, medium tan foam that quickly disappears, seems clear Smell: very good, malty Taste: Bitter Mouthfeel: very good finish, long follow through, long bitter sweet aftertaste Overall: very good beer, excellent for the price drank: Monday, March 13, 2017 11:00 PM

Can from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Sweet fruit nose, raisins and something a bit tart as well. Rust-colored reddish-brown. Thin tart red fruit, a touch harsh in mid palate, and it fades and flattens. Thin body, very tiny carbonation. Something wrong with this one? Taste more like a bad sour beer than a Scottish Ale.

gyllenbock (9156) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 9, 2016
On tap at Tugboat. Dark amber with a white head. A bit sweet with caramel, malt and something that reminded of smoke. Drinkable but nothing special.

@ Tugboat 16-3-8: ingen märkvärdig öl. Maltig med stor sötma/socker. Annars inget vidare.

Sweetish and kinda tart aromas come from this beautiful ruby red brew with a whiteish head. A nice sweet malty taste in this medium bodied brew melds with a slight tart taste which is not common for a scotch. The tart kinda overthrows the sweetness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium tan head. A big sweet nutty nose. Malty, sweet cocoa, berries, some light smoke. Very smooth and tasty.

Three people brought Two Kilts Scottish Ale. It tasted much better out of the growler vs bottle. We're guessing the retail stores are letting the bottles sit out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2017 A Scottish / Wee-Heavy Ale, disguised as an IPA. It has that normal Scottish wet Band-Aid taste. Re- Rating 2 1/2 years later (6/11/17): Not as bad as my original rating. Flavor is still a bit stale.

22. Thanks, A! Pours a cloudy dark amber with a creamy tan head that goes away. Big sweet malty nose, showing toffee, bread dough, brown bread, caramel, and hints of peat and molasses. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Bread dough, toffee, brown bread, caramel, tiny hints of peat and molasses on the mid palate. Soft sweet finish. This is one of those beers that’s absolutely right on point, especially for the style, but is so mild mannered that it will probably be overlooked by a lot of us.

Gotta try a scottish ale from a place called Two Kilts! Pretty porotypical (non wee-heavy) scottish ale. Fruits, carmel and peat on the nose and flavor. I prefer the bigger ones, but this was solid."
