Renowned for their Belgian farmhouse ales, good friends Phil Markowski and Belgian brewer Yvan de Baets teamed up to make this Double Grisette. This beer has the malted wheat base generous hopping of this bygone Belgian style but adds a twist: two different yeast strains were used, a wild yeast from Connecticut and a traditional Saison yeast from Belgium. The result is a dry, fruity, and aromatic farmhouse ale with a genuine Belgo-American Pedigree.

Pale golden pour with a thick white head. The aroma is bright and fruity. There's a little bit of spice and a bit of floral character. Rose and a bit of lavender in addition to a bright fruitiness. Intense and zesty. Juicy and slightly peppery with a touch of soft bitterness. There's a solid grassiness and a nice red berry flavour on the back.

Draft at bar hop. Clear orange, small white head. The aroma has sweet candy, the taste has licorice and sugar.

September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Two Roads / De la Senne Brothers In Farms'. Vibrant yellow, hazy, foamy off-white head leaves light lacing. Aroma is airy, chalky, little pale wood. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste follows aroma closely – sugary base with dry woody notes, some chalk and salt with a dusty dry finish. Decent. Hazy deep golden under a thick sticky rocky white head. Earthy musty grainy aroma with a slight earthy Belgian ester. Smooth Belgian farmhousey grainy flavor that’s lightly estery and slightly fruity. Basic and mellow but layered.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2017 Hazy gold colour with medium white foam. Aromas of sweet and slightly tart fruits with notes of honey, vanilla and slight touch of fudge and straw. Palate, full body with smooth texture well carbonated leaving sweet and only slightly dry finish. Taste, sweet of dust and hay with notes of grassy and lightly herbal hops with notes of coriander vanilla and orange peel. Overall, a very nice complex full saison do recommend.

Sweet fruits, red berries, grain and cereal malts, caramel. Hazy gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light sour. More sour, bitter, quite subtle, citrus fruits, Belgian yeast, sweet grain malts, toasted malts, light grass and citrus peel, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Decent. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 17, Canada Water.

A solid beer from Two Roads. Straight Belgians tend to be a bit overrated imho, so this hybrid was a welcome change of pace. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day two, 09/09/17.
