Pours deep brown with big bubbly head. In aroma caramel and chilli. in taste similar to aroma, only caramel and chilli, and mabey sweet potato but i think this is a auto sugestion. Low body and thin mouth feel.

Can in Seattle. Dissipating foam, to a not terribly pretty ring. Dark thin malty brown body. Sweet edged Porter nose. The flavor profile makes a lot of sense if you know the beer. There is an earthy, mineral quality to the malt backing - and the use potatoes and corn makes plenty of sense there. Though neither is particularly obvious. The spicy pepper adds a peppery bite to the finish, though not hot. Ends up as a fairly creamy porter with a true aji pepper flavor at the finish. As I was just in Peru, hanging with the Barbarian crew (who let me know that this beer would be popping up in the States) Im happy to report that it does some of the concepts and flavors proud. Nice.

Aroma is earthy dark malts, caramel/coffee and mild coconut/sweet potato. The flavor is dark malts, mild sweetness/sweet potato, caramel/a hint of coffee and an acidic/slightly tart finish.

Pours an opaque cola brown with a thick foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and some spices. Light to medium body with lots of lacing. Considering the ingredients the taste is rather ordinary. Flavors arent very bold. You can hardly taste the spicy peppers. Smooth finish and not much of a lingering aftertaste. Not nearly as good as I expected.

473ml can @ Matts. Pours a dark mostly opaque brown colour with red highlights. Nose is toasted malts. Flavour is toasted malt, though it is somewhat bland it certainly has a thicker body that is smooth but has a nice spicy finish.

473mL can, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out dry cocoa and toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt and a touch of dry cocoa. Soft palate, with not much flavour complexity. Meh.

This has a dark brown colour and a thin head. Aroma shows a thin bit of cocoa malt, but not a whole lot else. This is light-bodied, surprised because of the potatoes. The porter base is thin, light, and with just a bit of cocoa. The peppers mostly come across with heat in the end, though without the deep fruity aji panca flavour. The sweetness is funny because its kind of a thin beer.

Pours a red-brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of caramel and chilies. Light bodied, with an earthy, vegetal taste. Slight heat on the finish. Not really for me.
