COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Igor Sikorsky, at the age of 50, realized his dream of 30 years with the successful lift-off of the first practical helicopter in Stratford, Connecticut, September 14, 1939.

In honor of Stratford’s aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky, we’ve created this most unorthodox Russian Imperial Stout. Made with rye and aged in oak whiskey barrels that give it a depth of character like no other, we think Igor would be pleased with the attention to detail in our creation. Here’s to Igog-and following dreams to reach new heights!

On tap at Level One. Pours a very thin layer of head but dissipates quickly. Has a dark brown almost pitch black. Some dirty lacing. Aromas of dark roasted malts, chocolate and vanilla. Flavours are sweet malts, chocolate, cocoa, hints of vanilla and rye. Subtle notes of whiskey in the finish, alcohol is fairly noticeable. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Quite a heavy but yummy and sweet brew.

Sample from 2015 batch at Hops & Pie during the "GABF Week, CSA Portfolio Tasting" on 10/04/2017. The beer is a rye bourbon, chocolate, rye and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, spicy rye, chocolate malt and dark fruit. The finish is rye, anise and booze. Pretty good overall.

Liked this and had someone else's too(who preferred a rival breweries coconut stout). Good graphics on the tap to draw you in if you are a propellor head.

Intense, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, cacao, sweet oak, whiskey. Hazy, very dark brown, tiny, creamy, beige head. Medium sweet. More sweet, dark chocolate, rich, moist pralines, sweet oak, caramel, whiskey, soft carbonation, full bodied. Nice Impy, bit could do with slightly more balance. Keg at Hops&Pie, Denver.

On tap at Hops & Pie. Black appearance with a light tan colored head. Aroma of dark fruity esters, rye spice, chocolate malt, mild coffee, light oak and a touch of roasted grain. Similar flavor, adding moderate malt sweetness and a touch of bitterness. Full body with soft carbonation and a smooth finish. Good.
