COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Igor Sikorsky, at the age of 50, realized his dream of 30 years with the successful lift-off of the first practical helicopter in Stratford, Connecticut, September 14, 1939.

In honor of Stratford’s aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky, we’ve created this most unorthodox Russian Imperial Stout. Made with rye and aged in oak whiskey barrels that give it a depth of character like no other, we think Igor would be pleased with the attention to detail in our creation. Here’s to Igog-and following dreams to reach new heights!

750 mL bottle shared with Gus and ebone1988. 2015 vintage. Ugh. The pour is a lighter black with a humongous light tan head and a lot of lace and froth left in wake. The aroma is sharp and bit good. The roastiness is big and there. The alcohol is sharp and heavy. Light chocolate and it’s just an alcoholic sharp mess. The flavor is by any better. It’s chocolate and messy alcohol. The carbonation is huge and brightly fizzy with a lingering chocolate water and alcohol on the finish. Ugh. This is not good at all. 5 3 4 2 9

Aroma is pine, rye, roasted malt, dark fruit, licorice, barrel, more hops than malt. Appearance is dark brown, light brown head, poured thin. Taste is roasted malt, booze, hoppy, barrel, spicy rye, licorice, coffee, but very light. Mouthfeel is medium body, medium spritzy carbonation, hoppy roasted malt spice barrel aftertaste. Overall, this one is rather unpleasant.
