A traditional farmhouse ale made with a very expressive yeast strain that contributes an array of tropical fruit, spice flavors and aromatics. Brewed with a variety of harvest grains including barley, wheat, oats and rye as was likely the case with farmhouse brewers of yore. The result is a complex, refreshing and distinctive example of this esoteric style. Intensely fruity (passion fruit, pineapple, mango, lychee), slightly spicy (clove, white pepper)

Clear orange-tinted golden coloured body with a thin, single centimetre tall white head. Aroma of dry oak, grass, hay, flowers, yeast, coriander seed and a touch of corn noticeable. Light-bodied; Sharp grassy and floral note up front with a mellow malt flavour with only some grass notes and a bit of very light hops. Aftertaste is relatively mild with some grass, herbs, hops and a faint bit of hay - not much going on here. Overall, a pretty subdued and very easy-to-drink saison with a nice, but very light profile - nice and simple to drink! I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Beer Culture in New York (Midtown), New York on 27-November-2015 for US$3,00 sampled at home in Washington on 28-February-2016.

Bottle from a Lazy Dog Slightly hazy straw color with a smallish but short lived bubbly white head. Spicy yeast esters, light sweet bread faint earthy hops and a touch of funk. Light bits of citrus round this out. Pretty drinkable, not my favorite saison by any means but fairly well made.

Bottle 02/03/2016. Slightly cloudy yellow pour under a modest white head. The aroma has a nice note of Belgian yeast, mild spice, a little tropical fruit, and toasted grainy malts. Light to medium body. The taste has a great toasted barley and grainy character to start with a tropical fruitiness that kicks in and a spicy bitterness to finish. It runs the gamut.

355 ml bottle @ Timo A. Bottled on 08.01.2015.
Pours pale clear golden color with a very small head. Fruity aroma, herbal with grassy tones, pineapple and mandarin. Flavor is quite sweet fruity flavor, pineapple and orange, peach and some herbal spiciness. Slightly tart palate, dry finish. Aftertaste is very short. The age doesn’t show in this that much, okay light Saison.

the aroma is malty and fruity with hints of yeast, citrus, pimento and herbs... the taste is fruity and malty with notes of yeast, pepper, lemon, key lime and spicy grasses... the aftertaste is dry, bitter and spicy...

Clean farmhouse yeast aroma. Drinks like a saison, yeasty. Smooth drinkability. LAcy.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2016 Bottle pour into tulip glass. Appearance is hazy yellow with 1-2 finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Nice sparkle. Aroma is mild Belgian yeast and associated fruity esters, mild bubblegum, crackers. Taste is mix of fruity sweet dominant over tart, maybe some mild pepper. Palate is light bodied with thin texture and lively-to-fizzy carbonation. Overall, on the money for the style but a bit on the light side with mild aroma and taste with thin palate. From the look, I was expecting something a little thicker.

12 fl. oz. bottle bought at Bierzwerg bottle shop, Greven. Unclear pale orange in the glass, small white head. Wheat, yeast and some fruit on the nose. Taste is fruity, pleasant sweetness, little bit dry, wheat. Some spicy hints in the background. Light, refreshing and easy to drink in a positive way.
