Thick fluffy beige head stayed well on a still black body.
Luscious cherry & dark chocolate aroma
Thick bodied, almost chewy! Creamy, with slight cloying.
Rich dark chocolate, cherries, oatmeal, dark fruit & a long, slightly tangy cherry back. Mr_Pink_152 (5004) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2016
Tried at the crafty crow, Nottingham. Dark almost black colour with a thick cream coloured head. The aroma has cherries, but quite subtle in the taste. downender (8659) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2016
Cask-conditioned at the Lime Kiln, Bristol 15/7/2016. Near black in colour, with a thin, beige, head. A hint of tart cherry fruit, toasty malts, suggestion of chocolate and gentle finish. Good. Mishnok (306) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JUN 14, 2016
From 500ml bottle. Creamy head disappeared quickly after pouring. Dark with ruby hints. Taste is of roasted malts with bitter. I couldn't pick up much cherry. Body is a little watery. Acceptable, but I've had better stouts.

[ As Tyne Bank Cherry Stout ].
Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light bege head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt bitter, dark malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat.
Cask at Ye Old Elm Tree, Durham, £3.40/pint.
Ruby black beer with a thick, cream-coloured head. The nose has the cherries promised but unfortunately they are largely eclipsed in the flavour by a rather over the top smoky character that masks all else. Not great. StueyD (1583) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2015
A pitch black beer with a frothy but weak tan coloured head. A light aroma, dark malt elements like burnt sugar, nutty, smoky then a red fruit aroma that suggests cherries. Medium dry and slightly thinner than expected mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a smooth and sweet malt flavour, dark caramel and chocolatey, that leads in a ripe jammy, red fruit flavour, definitely cherry plus plum and raisiny dried fruit. Then a dry nutty, woody and slightly smoky flavour comes through towards the end. The finish is dry nutty with a sweetish caramel fruit background. Bottle from the Maris Otter 50 Beer Festival, Norwich. KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 26, 2015
Cask at GBBF 2015. Black with a high, airy head. Roasty nose, chocolate, coffee, and maybe just a hint of cherry. Soy sauce. A bit weak overall, without much cherry at all.
