Well all the things you’ll find in this beer are right in the title - the smoked porter is great, a little aftertaste like you ate a jalapeno a few minutes ago and the beer didn’t quite quench it. Really don’t have to worry about it being too spicy, it’s great overall. islay (2920) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 25, 2016
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 8-3-16. Several months old, perhaps nearing a year of aging. Pours dark brown (ultimately a very dark amber) with a small to moderate amount of short-lasting, beige to taupe head. Ordinary porter/stout appearance, and the short-lasting head does the appearance no favors. Very nice aroma of roasted malts with a kick of roasted peppers. Dark chocolate, cocoa, and pepper spice scents. Smells good. Really nice, roasted malt flavor with a little something extra. Quite tasty. Chocolate mole or rich, dark, Mexican hot chocolate. Lively in the palate. Medium to medium/full body. Just a really nice and tasty beer. The pepper has subsided somewhat since I initially tried this beer months ago, and I remember the aroma and flavor popping / standing out a little more then. bnokk (538) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 18, 2016
super dark, nougat colored head with amazing lacing around the glass.
smoky! Deep smokiness which is somewhat sweet, not pungent at all.
smoke, once again. Slightly (a touch) spicy, but not significant. Overall, quite nice. shigadeyo (3764) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 18, 2016
Really smoky, caramelized malts, char in this aroma; deep brown color, pond scum like khaki crown; light sweet smoke and caramel malt, hints of pepper (really subtle at first but grows with each sip), dark chocolate through the finish; medium to medium full body, really nice silky mouthfeel; good amount of smokiness, would like the pepper to be a touch more explicit, but still damn good overall. 12 fl oz bottle. bluejacket74 (1993) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - JUL 15, 2016
12 ounce bottle, bottled on 11JAN16 stamped on the bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with almost an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like subtle smoke, chili peppers, and chocolate. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, it’s subtle smoke, chili peppers and chocolate. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s coating and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It’s also smooth and easy enough to drink. I thought this was OK overall, but I wish it had more kick to it. I think this is the 3rd beer I’ve tried from Tyranena and I can’t say any of them have impressed me (not that their beers have been bad either). But if you like subtle chili pepper flavor, then give this a try.

Deep brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has chocolate, mild coffee, and some spice. It has a smooth, medium body with average carbonation. The taste is roasted with a warm pepper finish. Carlisle (786) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2016
Bottle. Chocolate malt with smoke and pepper notes. Chocolate and pepper upfront followed by coffee and subtle, pleasant pepper burn in the finish. Fine, effervescent mouthfeel.

Pours opaque dark chocolate brown with a thin light tan head. aroma presents smoky malt, coffee and semi-sweet ho oblate notes. Flavor delivers vegetable, chocolate, roast malt and subtle pepper tones. Mouthfeel is smooth and somewhat firm, rather fizzy. Go wild! mfhennig (285) - McHenry County, Illinois, USA - FEB 11, 2016
You can smell the chipotle peppers right off the bat. Appearance is typical of imperial stouts and porters. This has a minimal head, but leaves lotsa lacing. This is quite smokey beer, aroma and flavor. Nice burn at the end. When I see these BGW 4 packs, I usually buy them they don’t disappoint. Solid beer! Soft brown, oily without much of a head - solidly opaque. Nose was oily, BBQ and soy but didn’t kick onto the initial taste. Neat and spicy throughout, very soft carbonation but thick and monstrous on the linger. Spicy enough, the roast and choc was more apparent as the heat faded on the finish. Linger was lean enough, back to the soy roastiness.
