Bottle thanks to Msante79. Pours clear reddish brown with tan head. Nose of rye, caramel malts and hops. Taste of rye, sweet malts, hops and piney dry finish. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 21, 2010
A: A 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass reveals a hazy amber color with a small off-white head.
S: The smell features a lot of tropical fruit and citrus. There is a fair amount of pineapple, mango, and grapefruit. There is also a sweet caramel flavor, along with a mild spiciness on the malt side of things.
T: Despite this beer being several months old, there is still a surprising amount of hop character. The flavor has a very nice bitterness and a mild citrus. The rye lends this beer a nice spicy flavor to go along with the bready malt.
M: The body is a bit thin, but not terrible. The carbonation is moderate.
D: This is one of the better IPAs I’ve had from outside of CA, even at its age. A nice beer that I’m glad I got a chance to try. bhensonb (15976) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 28, 2009
Bottle from Archer Liquors. Pours amber with a little beige head. Aroma is strongly malty with a fair amount of hop. Medium body with chewy, creamy carbonation. Flavor is more rye malt than not, and the hop is quite floral and fruit. Rye seems to help cut the malt, and the hop helps there too. Got a good taste in the finish. Dry, astringent, bitter. Very good beer. DSG (15432) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 26, 2010
