COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rob so enjoyed the rye component of Dirty Old Man that we decided to brew an IPA with it as well. We’ll be amping up the gravity, as well as the flavoring and aroma hops (relative to Bitter Woman).

hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 21, 2009
Bottle… October ’09 O-Town Throwdown... Clear yellow ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma presents black tea, caramel, resin and spicy rye. Full-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavor tilts toward the bitter side of balance, but provides nice malty, grainy essences of caramel and rye. Bittersweet, dry finish. Bottle provided by juiceisloose

12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange amber color with a medium off white head. The aroma has citrus hoppiness, a spicy bite of rye, and some additional floral and resiny hops. The flavor is a fresh green earthy citrus hoppiness, the rye component is stronger mid to late, with moderate bitterness throughout. Medium bodied, smooth, dry finish. This is a nice drinkable IPA.

Bottle courtesy of BeerBelcher and opened at my refrigerator reduction tasting on 8/15/09. Pours a clear amber with a medium off-white head. Bready malt makes up most of the nose, but there are some citrusy and earthy hops as well. Flavor is a bit more balanced, with the citrusy hops coming through first before the bread hits you. Balanced and very good.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Apparently the cartoon from Dirty Old Man and this beer looks like one of our fellow Dallas raters, who shall remain nameless. Pours with a small white head over a golden body. Aroma of orange, grass, caramel and a touch of rye. Taste is orange and rye spicy/breadiness. Light bubbles.
