2009 Bottle - Thanks NobleSquirrel! - Pours amber with a small white head...aroma is caramel malty and floral hops...flavour is resinous hops up front, giving way to some dark grassy malt and a nice lingering bitterness...fun brew... msante79 (2244) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - JUL 17, 2009
12oz bottle from Orland Park Binny’s single rack. Pours clear copper with off-white head. Is mostly floral hops and caramel malt with some rye and a hint of citrus. Flavor is bitter hops, rye, caramel malt, and light citrus. Finishes bitter and has good mouthfeel and carbonation. Rye really brings on bitterness. Another solid IPA. cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - JUL 18, 2009
12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a clear copper color with a 1/2 finger thick light tan head. Has a decent amount of spotty lacing. Aroma is toasted malt and esters. The rye is noticeable in the flavor along with some caramel malt, hops (cascade like?) and esters. A lightly carbonated, medium body beer. Nice. Thanks Bill. Pours a hazy orange-ish gold color with a nice head with good retention and modest lace. Aroma is grassy and somewhat piney. Flavor had some good grapefruit, some nice rye bitter character, with just a little bit of caramel. Plenty of spiciness is around and it’s pretty dry. I enjoyed this indeed. Pours a transparent bright orange amber with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt with some dusty rye chracter and grapefruity hop spice. Starts fairly full and sweet with an interesting grainy component and good juicy, resiny hops. Finishes drier, crisp and bittersweet with a lingering hop bite. A pretty good Rye IPA.

Bottle - thanks Adam. Dull copper pour with a modest beige head. Aroma is rather rich with citrus and light caramel malt. Very sweet and syrupy. Tastes more floral in hoppiness with light citrus, caramel, and the drier rye element. Good, but had the hops come through as much in the flavor as they did in the nose, this would be excellent. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 4, 2009
Bottle. Nice rich amber pour, small white head. Aroma is full of citrus notes, caramel, and maybe some light apple notes. Flavor is lightly bitte with some citrus notes and a nice caramel balance. Good beer. beersearcher (2383) - Glendale, California, USA - SEP 21, 2009
Lovely golden orange color. Hop aroma is gentle. Interesting mix of pepper and bitter hops. It works for me because the pepper fades off nicely. Beerlando (3343) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 21, 2009
Pours a lightly hazy, dark orange-amber color with a thick head of ivory tinted froth. Dense, sticky, cobweb sheeting clings hard to the glass, holding strong for the duration. Aromas are of toasted toffee and biscuit malt, with wisps of rye grain and perhaps some caraway seed. Orange peel and pine comprise the hop profile, which is quite resinous and balancing. Flavors follow suit, teetering between sweet toffee toast and strikingly bitter citrus and pine hop resins. The clean and powerful rye seems to intensify the hoppiness, sticking to the rear of the tongue on the finish. Big bodied and smooth, with moderate carbonation, the palate offers ample substance to hold up the bold flavors. Good stuff. I really dig the rye IPA sub-genre. juiceisloose (1606) - Windermere, Florida, USA - SEP 25, 2009
Courtesy fantomas23. Pours a dark amber-orange color with a thick and foamy off white head that shows good retention and leaves sheets of lacing behind. The aroma shows pine and orange citrus hops up front to go with the toasted caramel malt backbone. Hints of rye grains and spiciness are noticeable as well. The flavor follows and is quite bitter from the citrus and pine hops, but the sweet caramel and biscuity malts are there to balance things out. The rye is more pronounced in the flavor adding bold spiciness that seems to enhance the hop bitterness. Full bodied and smooth with good carbonation that leads to a lengthy bitter finish from all the hops. I like the flavor that the rye adds in this beer. Really nicely done ipa.
