Black with a thick dark head. Full slick body. Chocolate, some rye spice, roasted malt, sugary malt, some oak. Lingering sweetness with booze. Very enjoyable.

12 oz bottle from Tavour at home. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have nice chocolate character, mild bitterness mild roasted malts, rye whiskey barrel character, some spicy rye, wood, smooth oatmeal character with some sweetness, pretty solid offering, nice to see a new beer from this series.

Bottle at home. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is moderate sweet and rich chocolate, medium roast malt, spicy rye whiskey, prunes and woody notes. Flavor is spicy rye whiskey, not hot, medium sweet and rich chocolate, medium roast malt, licorice notes, light woody hops and bitterness with a lightly sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Keg @ Blue Moon, Madison. Deep brown with a substantial, creamy khaki head. Plenty of earthy, peppery rye barrel character. Caramel and marzipan. Dark chocolate. Flavor is fairly sweet. Boozy, dry peppery finish. Welcomed dark fruit character - raisin and prune. Subtle chocolate. Smooth and supple. Drinks pretty well, all things considered. Nice.

A deviously low-key double oatmeal stout with a subtle whiskey, chocolate and vanilla aroma drifting up from a heady pour. Equally low-key sweetness on a full bodied, but not necessarily chewy, stout. If Discount Liquor in Milwaukee didn’t always have two-bottle limits on these short-supply beers, I would have bought several more. Bottling date is a little smudged. I can make out a "10" to start, smudged digits in the middle and a "17" to end, which I believe means this beer came from the future.

12 ounce bottle from Discount Liquor. Dark brown, thin foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of big chocolate, oats, hints of whiskey. The taste is chocolate, cocoa, roast, coffee, vanilla, hints of whiskey in the finish. No real oak. Medium bodied, low carbonation, hints of booze. Quite nice!

It pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has smooth roast, vanilla, oak and deep caramel. It has a medium body with lightly rough carbonation. The taste has heavy roast, chocolate, char and woody oak. Really nice and hides alcohol well.

Dark mahogany in color. Almost thought there would be no head but it showed up at the end of the pour. Nice roasty aroma and chewy mouthfeel. Sturdy robust oatmeal stout base with a nice ratio of barrel. Good stuff.

On tap at Champps Americana in Brookfield. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has chocolate, some caramel, vanilla and light licorice. Later in the glass quite a strong oakiness comes through. Taste is sweet malty, chocolate, oak, bourbon. Medium to full bodied, softly carbonated and a bit thick. FInishes sweet bourbon oaky, with chocolate fighting to show some bitterness. Yeti-ish, with the strong oak presence. Solid and tasty but not one of Tyranena’s best barrel products. 14.8

Draft courtesy of nuplastikk, many thanks! Opaque maroon brown color, thin tsn head. Aroma of cocoa powder. Taste has dark fruit, chocolate, light coffee. Tasty.
